Boring weekend at the lake...sigh......

I decided to go up Saturday afternoon and get a head start on the raking and such before DD, her DH and my granddaughter came up on Sunday...

What a drag! Late in the afternoon there was this piddly little thunderstorm - high winds - but no lightning, no tornado and definitely no earthquake like there was a few years back.. BORING.. Lasted a total of 5 minutes..

Lions and tigers and bears - Oh my! Not a one.. Not even a Bambi, for goodness sake.. BORING...

Water level in the lake was very LOW because they still have the dam open.. No docks floating away - no picnic tables floating in - no being able to say, "Oh look - we can fish from the road!!" BORING..

No neighbors there to try to sell any of my personal belongings.. BORING..

No chipmunks to run up and down my arms and legs.. BORING..

No dead bodies and not even ONE "suspicious" death! BORING..

How am I supposed to keep all of you entertained this year if the place has suddenly gone "soft" on me??????????????????????

LOL! You do seem to have a lot of 'adventures' at the lake. This was only the first weekend, give it time. There could still be a freak snow storm w/avalanche, a flash flood, a big foot sighting, well, the possiblities are endless...

Actually I hope you have a wonderful, peaceful summer at the lake and bore us all to death.

OK, um I can send some pixie dust along if you need some excitement. Although I think sending my 5 DCherubs up for a weekend ought to do the trick. DS 11 will really keep you entertained by either calling his sibs some horrid name or discovering some treasure of some sort! DS 8 will whine that DS 11 is calling him names and then go off and play by himself for hours in the woods. He can make a toy-saf eof course-out of a rock, but we will keep that away from the 11 yo because it could become a weapon of mass destruction as I like to call them. DD 14 will paint your nails and toes and do your make-up and hair and whine and say that no one understands her or loves her when we aren't paying enough attention to her. DS 15 will say he going to go do a task you ask him to do and poof he is gone for I dunno several hours and when you ask if it got done, he will say HUH? Witness dishwasher he was asked to unload 10 minutes ago and when DH just asked him if he had done it, his reply was you asked me to do that, oh sorry I didn't hear you. And then there is the bug, Katie Bug that is-6 yo, she will sing or talk and sometimes both your ear off. She wakes up singing and sings herself to sleep at night. I am getting a little concerned because she used to sing in tune, but lately it is sounding a mite bit flat. Gads, I hope she is not inheriting my musical talents which amount to-umm can you say none? So let me know if you could use some extra excitement, I will happily oblige, anything for a fellow DISER!

You know, I haven't been doing much reading in quite awhile now.. I have so much going on in my life, I find it very hard to concentrate.. I LOVE to read - but the concentration just hasn't been there lately..

Now that you mentioned it though, I think when I start hitting the garage sales, I'll check out the books.. Maybe when I'm at the lake and not feeling so stressed out I can get back to reading again! Thanks for reminding me.
