We’ve been enough time that I really should have this down pat but between the kids growing up <sigh> and Disney changing things <groan> each time is a new adventure. My family has little to no opinion but I love to plan and replan and I know you do too 😁

A little about us:
dh basically goes for the food. We usually get the deluxe dining plan but obviously not this time (at least not at the moment). He also insists we stay deluxe (WL is his preferred)
He doesn’t really ride many rides. While the kids are beyond needing mid-day naps dh is not. He prefers nice relaxed vacations.

I live by the “you can sleep when you’re dead” philosophy. I would be totally fine staying at the cheapest value resort (gotta be in the bubble) and eating chicken fingers all week, so long as I’m at Disney I’m happy.

DS now 20 isn’t going this trip 😢.

DS11 isn’t really a Disney fan. The first thing to really excite him is when I mentioned building a droid. He doesn’t even like Star Wars but he liked that idea. Once he’s there he’ll like the big rides and he’ll like the pool, he just doesn’t get excited about stuff.

About the trip:
We’ll arrive at MCO on Sat Jan 23 and likely Uber to YC where we’ll stay until Thursday. On Thursday we move to Boulder Ridge where will stay till Sunday. We will likely have early/late flights and have 9 day park hopper tickets. I have no intention of buying Genie+ or ILL. If we get to the end of the week and there’s stuff we haven’t hit then maybe I’ll reconsider for a day or two.

Here’s my loose plan. Tell me what I should change:

Sat: arrive, check in, check out the resort and get settled. Take the skyliner (it goes into refurb the next day) to DHS. Dinner at Brown Derby @ 5:10. After dinner hit some headliners until park close at 9.

Sun: breakfast at Ale & Compass @ 8:45. Hit Epcot for a bit, break at resort. 4:15 dinner @ Tiffins. After dinner hit some headliners until close at 7.

Mon: breakfast at Cape May @ 8:05 then to HS, afternoon break. Dinner at Yachtsman @ 5:50 then to Epcot for Extra Magic Hours till 11.

Tue:MK closes at 4:30 for a special event. I’m hoping the park will be quiet so we’re going there then heading to DS for shopping and dinner at Morrimoto.

Wed:Head to AK ride Safari first then Tusker House at 9:15. Afternoon break. Dinner at Citricos @ 5:15. Take Monorail to MK for extra Magic Hours till 10. Hoping to hit lots of headliners

Thur: move to Boulder Ridge. I’m hoping if we request both late checkout and early check in we won’t be homeless for long. No set plans except dinner at Steakhouse 71 @ 7:45.

Fri: No set plans except dinner at Whispering Canyon @ 5:45

Sat: No set plans except dinner at Homecomin’ @ 8:20

Sun: breakfast at WC @ 8. Check out of resort and head to MK for one last time before we head to the airport.

WDYT? Does it balance a plan (as required by Disney) without going commando (dh hates vacationing like that)? The last few days are basically open, how soon do I need to make park reservations for them? I’m hoping I can keep them open until day before but is that too risky?

A few notes!

On the day you move to Boulder Ridge, I would plan to be "homeless" for longer than you think - if you read through some of the forums, some people are not seeing their rooms available until 5, 6, even 7pm!

On your last few days, I would play it safe and make a reservation for a park. January is open for now, and you can always change what park you want to visit the day of (if available), but I would play it safe and at least book something.

On the day you take the Skyliner to HS - leave yourself PLENTY of time. If you get on at Epcot, you'll go to Riveria (stay on) then Carribbean Beach. Here you have to get off and switch to the other line, and you'll ride direct to HS. There could be a wait at Epcot, a wait when you switch at Carribbean Beach, and you could get stuck for a bit! Play it safe and leave early!

You've got a lot of amazing restaurants on your list - I'm sure your husband appreciates that if he's the foodie!
