bored teens at epcot?

Going to WDW Dec 19-26. Have two DS, ages 12 and 15. Will they be hopelessly bored at Epcot/WS?

I'm going in July with a 13, 12 and 5 year old. I'm sure my 13 year old will be thrilled with Epcot. He is very studious and just loves learning about anything! I'm sure it will be one of his favorite parts of the vacation. My 12 year old just wants to have fun, and although she is very bright, her brain is on VACATION in the summer! She'll just want to ride on rides and do the water parks. So, I think we may be splitting up. I think the Illuminations fireworks will be enjoyed by both, as well as the rides offered at Epcot. I'm sure my daughter will be very into the French pastry shoppe! I think there should be enough there to keep everyone in the family happy for one morning or one evening. As for going back, I may have to go back with my son while my husband goes to Stormalong Bay with the other two!

I don't think they will be bored. Innoventions is fun for anyone. You can spend hours in those 2 buildings alone.

They'll love Mission: Space, Test Track, Honey I Shrunk the Audience, Body Wars.

They'll find something they'll enjoy. Our DD's aren't always crazy about going through the countries before we get there, but after we try different foods from the different countries & watch some of the shows, they always agree that they are glad they were there to see it. They love the acro show in China & the "moving statue" in France.

I'm sure your kids will be fine. Remember, fun isn't always spinning, free falling or going upside down!

Future World has a lot going to it for teens. Mission Space, Test Track and Innovations.

For the World Showcase:
Kidcot: I don't know about the 15 year old, but the 12 year can make a Mask if they want. The kids color them at every kidcot station at each country and a Cast Member will add a dangly thing at each country and add a stamp from the country to the handle.

Interesting things in Countries: My son is 11 and loves to look at the miniture trains at Germany. He will spend 15 minutes watching them. Norway has a cool ride.
Japan show with the Drums is neat, and China has an acrobat show.

If your kids like shopping, going in and out of the shops is fun.

Getting a Pal Mickey would help too. Mickey tells you interesting things about each country. :MickeyMo

my 15 loved Epcot. The street entertainers, the different 'worlds', the FOOD!!!!

They might like to check out Innoventions Westside.There is an area with new video games they can try out.

I don't know your kids, but I think they'll be far from bored in Epcot. Since I was a kid, I've loved Epcot. It's such a fun, exciting place to learn. I think the only part of Epcot I ever felt a tad bored in at age 12 was the World Showcase. But as for the rest of the park, it's fascinating!

My 2 teens, 13 and 17 had a great time in Epcot this past summer. They love Test Track, Mission Space, the Living Seas, Body Wars. Also, they enjoy looking around the country areas in World Showcase and had a great lunch at Teppanyaki. Older DS even asked to stay for Illuminations. I find that as they get older they enjoy Epcot more.

I took 42 middle school students last March and they loved OffKilter near the Canadian pavillion - a must for kids!!! The rides up front are awesome- i doubt they'll be bored!

Well it's been about 10 years since I was a teen, but I never recall being bored. I always liked Epcot the best.

One of my teens likes Epcot and the other considers it his favorite park. They really like the comedic entertainment -- living statue in Italy, A Chair Act and Le Mime Roland in France and the World Showcase Players in England. The younger one could also watch the Miyuki, the candymaker, in Japan all day. Both like Test Track and Imagination and find Spaceship Earth and World of Energyk okay. One loves Mission Space and the other thinks it's lame. The older one goes to Innoventions and plays video games whenever he's tired of being with us -- works great. I'll admit they do think most of the other Future World attractions are boring, but they have been there many times. Unless your kids have a lot of familiarity, they should at least be willing to try the attractions.

I've got a DD almost 13, and we spend more time at Epcot than anywhere else. Last time, we spent a lot of time playing the interactive game after riding Mission Space. She will spend as much time in Innoventions as I can abide. And she enjoys just walking around World Showcase, catching the live entertainment. Epcot also has the best and biggest variety of snacks and restaurants, something that will appeal to your teens, and the most interesting shops. She also enjoys the CMs in the World Showcase, all from their respective countries. Don't know if your boys notice "older" women, but most are quite attractive. Diana

Point out to your teens that the World Showcase CMs come from the respective countries and many are not much older than they are - college student age for some of them. It's a wonderful opportunity for them to speak to people from around the world and they'll be surprised to discover that they have similar interests and likes. If your teens love music, for instance, have them ask the CMs what music is popular in their country and they'll probably find they love the same bands.

If your teens are learning a language in school it's a good opportunity to practice.

If they're board give them a camera and let them walk around WS taking photos of the countries, and trying to make them look like the actual countries. Then they can joke to their friends that they didn't go to WDW but went on a world tour!

my 13 year old son loves Innoventions. While we are touring the ws we usually have something to eat in each country this keeps the kids interested. They take turns picking and most of the time we are eating desserts, but hey we are on vacation. If you try this don't forget Beaver tails in canada(When asked the cm will sing alittle song) and shaved ice in Japan. Also a favorite. Go enjoy I'm sure he will find something that he likes. Epcot is one of our favorite parks! Gina

Depends ... what would they be doing if they stayed home?

As my parents would have said at this point ... "Who cares if they're bored?" They're in sunny Florida and at Disney World! If they can't find something they like, then just don't bring them next time! The last time I ever told my parents that the trip they'd planned for us was "boring," they dropped me off at my aunt & uncle's house to show me what my alternative was, if I chose not to join the family vacation. After I spent a week sharing a room with my cousins, EVERYTHING was interesting!
