Bored children on journeys?

I heard about a site on the radio that suggested some games to keep children amused in the car, it looks worth a closer look -

My oldest daughter likes her Gameboy for long jounerneys,she also reads alot.My youngest likes reading,I expect it won't be long before she wants a Gameboy as well.

When the children were younger, they really enjoyed books on tape..... at one point I could quote Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in my sleep!!!!!

We found this better than reading as both DS & DD used to feel sick if they tried to read in the car.

...... we had the same problem Maxine (car sickness if they read).

When our sons were small, we invented a couple of games for them such as between a certain time frame they had to each count as many red (or other colour) cars as they could.... then at the end of the time for that, move onto another colour.

Their walkmans have been of great use on car journeys too.
