Border Crossing Dec 25 or Dec 26?

We are driving to Florida and will most likely cross at Lewiston or Fort Erie. If we leave on Dec 25 we would reach the border mid to late afternoon. If we leave on Dec 26 we would likely reach the border around 7:30 am.

Which day do you recommend for shorter times at the border or just for travelling in general?

Also which date would we be less likely run into non-vacany at hotels along I-75? I would pre-book a hotel but depending on weather we may want to stop earlier or later.

I've never had a long wait at either Lewiston or Fort Erie going in to the United States (coming back is a different story), so I'd say pick the departure time that works best for you. I always prefer early morning travelling because the traffic is always lighter (especially getting through the GTA) and you get more daylight driving hours before the early winter sunset. The busiest travel days are usually towards the beginning of the school break (Dec. 22-23), but the school break is so late this year that it's hard to predict when most people are going to travel.

Hi, this past Dec26th we crossed the Queenston/Lewiston bridge at 830 AM no wait at all to cross into the US.
