Booster seats for rental car ideas?

We are flying into MCO next month & using DME to our Disney resort. At the conclusion of our WDW trip, we are renting a car thru Alamo at the Disney Car Care Center & spending a couple days in St. Petersburg before flying home from there. My girls are older now (9 & 10) but on the small side and still haven't sized out of needing to sit on a booster seat in the car. The car rental companies charge over $10/day per seat and I can buy a new booster for $10 at Walmart. Trying to decide if I order (2) boosters for $10/each from Walmart & have them shipped to OKW while we're there or if something else makes more sense that I haven't thought of? We would then potentially need to abandon them at the car rental return...I know I won't have room in my luggage for them returning home.

Has anyone else done something similar, or have a better idea? :)

This. We put them in a duffel bag and they are free to check.
Thank you both! I didn't realize this was an option! Have either of you flown Frontier? Tossing our existing ones into a duffel bag would be awesome if that's an option without paying another $33 for a checked bag.

if they use low back ones just put in one of checked bags with clothes packed around. we have done that

You could also consider getting them a bubble bum carseat online as well. They sell them on amazon.

Mi-Fold would be an easy way of getting around it, we use 2 or 3 depending on who is coming. Work well and are really small and easy to pack. I think Target now stocks them so you can have a look at one in person before buying.

We love our Mi-Fold for things like this. One day we decided that we would Uber to the park, and the Mi-Fold fit into the backpack we were carrying anyway. I keep one in my car when we are at home in case I’m asked to bring a kid home unexpectedly from school or softball practice.

We have one of the Bubblebum boosters (got it at Target, I think) & it was PERFECT! Can't use it on the plane, of course, but it was small enough to fit inside my kiddo's carry-on bag If I remember correctly, they were pretty affordable, too.
