We are heading out to Florida in just under 2 weeks :yay:
usually its just me and dh,now there are loads of us - all family- going around the same time and some overlapping our holiday- 21 of us in total!!
my question is will a 6 yr old need a booster seat or one of those boosters with the back part attached to it?
Thanks!

I'd take what she uses at home. The car seat rules in Florida over cover children upto 5.

At home our eldest (7) has a standard booster seat and our youngest (5) has a booster seat with sides, back and headrest attached. Both girls are tall for their age.....

When we go on hols we take two Bubblegum inflatable boosters with us. They are not quite as substantial/tall as a standard booster seat but we are happy with them :thumbsup2 One year we took two standard boosters in a sports bag but it was just one bag too many hence we bought the Bubblegum ones......

Towards the end of our hol, we tried DD1 without the bubblegum booster and she was definately big/tall enough to go without as the seat belt sat in exactly the right place etc So I guess it depends on what 'you' use at home and the height and build of the child....

Ali :goodvibes

Netty, last time we went Daniel was 6 (and 51" tall) and did not need or use a booster seat, even though he obviously uses one at home. The time before that he was 5 and just 48" and didn't use one then either (although the over-the-shoulder seat belt was a little uncomfortable) so we usually stuck him in the middle, firmly wedged between Grandma and Grandpa ;)

Either is fine - whichever you prefer. She is legal without but I agree with the previous posts that do ehat you would do here in uk.

My DD uses a backless booster sometimes in grandma's car so we are taking that (she will be 5.9 yrs and is 49 inches tall in 7-8 clothes)

The hire car last time had a thing to adjust the seatbelt aswell to make it fit a child better.

my kids loved the trunki boostapak.
used as carry on luggage with their stuff for the plane ride.

Great, thanks for the info, he is small so a booster seat will be needed!! :thumbsup2
I may be back with more questions!! :rotfl2:
