I'm into The Kalahari Typing School For Men , the 4th book in the series of The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith .

Charming, simple, heart-warming stories. I would love to know someone like Mma Precious Ramotswe, the proprietor of the No. 1 LDA.

"The Miss Marple of Botswana" ~ The New York Times Book Review

Has anyone else read them? :)

What's on your reading list?

:)

Sounds good Snowark. I am always looking for new book suggestions.

I just started Robert B Parker's latest Spenser dectective book in his series. Vrey good. I have read all of the books in the series this winter, some 35 odd books.

I love Robert B Parker's Spenser books! Is there a new one out?

I just read Glorious Appearing. It is the last book in the Left Behind series. I was quite disappointed in it. I thought it just dragged on and kept telling the same story about the people. It was just too much "junk" in it that bogged down the main story.

JMHO. :)

I'm reading Harry Potter and the order of the pheonix - for the 2nd time.

I'm reading The Crimson Petal and the White by Michael Faber.
I'm about 1/4 of the way through it. It's pretty good so far.

I also just finished Glorious Appearing, however, I did enjoy it.

I am currently reading Ocean's Apart by Karen Kingsbury.. she is a very inspiring author.

I just finished the Crimson Petal and the White, and I'm trying out an author named Daniel Silva - the book is called The English Assassin ... it's a bit trite but the plot is fairly intricate. I've also got a book right now called "Afterlove", not sure on the author as I haven't started yet.

I am currently reading Athanasius "On the Incarnation of the Word"

Have a paper due over it =(

The "fun" book I've been trying to read for weeks now is "Sacred Stories of Ordinary Families" by Diana Garland. Incredible, so far.

Can't wait until that trip to Vero Beach in May so I can READ READ READ!!!!!!!

I'm reading The Well of Lost Plots by Jasper Fforde. LOVE LOVE LOVE his books!!!!

Also read this week - Glorious Appearing which I thought was good and inspiring and Babyville by Jane Greene which was a blast.

Thanks for the read leads, everyone! ::yes::

Another book I'd highly recommend is The Master Butchers Singing Club by Louse Erdrich .

It's about a World War 1 German sniper (Fidelis Waldvogel) who returns home to his village and marries his best friend's pregnant widow. He soon leaves for America (North Dakota) to carve out a new life for himself and his growing family, carrying with him his most prized possesion, his father's butcher knives. And yes, he sings. :) A wonderful book, full of intriguing characters. A hard-to-put-down read. :)

I just finished "the five people you meet in heaven" by Mitch Albom.....the same author of 'Tuesday's With Morrie" It was a most excellent read.

Just about to finish Pride and Prejudice, so moving on in my Jane Austin kick, I'm next starting on Emma:teeth:

I'm reading "The Center Cannot Hold" by Harry Turtledove. It's the second book in his American Empire series, and the sixth in a larger series that started with "How Few Remain".

I'm reading Timeline by Michael Crichton, and about halfway through.

If I could get away from the quantum physics passages, I'd be fine...........

I read the first one and enjoyed it. I will probably try to read the others this summer.

I just finished "The Devil in the White City" by Erik Larson. True story about the 189? World's Fair in Chicago, and the serial killer who was running around there at the same time. Excellent book, written very well.

I am currently reading "Angry Housewives Eating BonBons". Light reading but it holds my attention.
