My BF is an avid reader and just asked me if there is a bookstore onsite. I can't think of one, but that strikes me as odd. I am now reaching out to all you experts in an effort to tap into your wealth of knowledge. Is there a bookstore at any of the parks, at DD, at any resorts?? Thank you for your help!!

The bookstore at DTD has all but vanished. There are still books about Walt and Disneyworld, land etc and books on animation but there is no pretense of being an all encompasing bookstore. The store at WDW shares space with the bakery and is quite limited.

Yes, I cannot find any trace of a bookstore at DD. I do see the one at MGM...The Writer's Stop. Does this carry only WDW-related books, or do we stand a chance to find, oh, let's say Ann Coulter's new book: Slander??? Thanks:)

I seem to remember the bookstore in MGM was just Disney-related.

Actually, I've never been to the DTD Virgin Megastore but we have two Virgins in our city and both have small bookstores with a good variety of books... does anyone know if the one at DTD has the same?

depending on where you are staying during your visit to the world, you may find that the resort gift shop will carry some number of novels available for purchase...it will probably only be the best seller type of stuff but it might work in a pinch...
have fun!!!!

The Virgin Megastore has a very large selection of all types of books.
The 'Art of Disney' gallery/stores in MK & Epcot, Writer's Stop & The Animation Gallery at Disney/MGM Studios, and "2-Rs: Reading and Riting" at Downtown Disney Marketplace have a wide selection of Disney-related books (you'd be surprised at how many there are).
