So has anyone read a good book lately?

I was wondering because I am reading this really good book called All American Girl
It was written by Meg Cabot.

It is about a girl who has three sisters.....she lives in washington D.C. She is in love with her older sister's boyfriend. Then she saves the life of the President and now the First Son is in love with her.

I acctually found the book by accident because I had to find a book for a book report with over 200 pages and I thought I would pick this one and I had no i dea wat it was about until I got home that night and read before I went to bed.

So how now tell me about your book you are reading and tell me how it is and how you got it.

Thanks,
Maggie

right now I'm not reading anything. I'm supposed to be writing an essay about Moby Dick, but I haven't actually read the book yet. (not good, seeing as it's over 400 pages long i think...but my english teacher is waaay behind w/ grading papers, so this one probably won't be due until may:rolleyes: )

So I guess the last books I read were Lord of the Rings for fun and The Scarlet Letter for school. I love Lord of the Rings, and Scarlet Letter was a lot better than I thought it would be.

I'm reading 3 books right now lol. One of them is D-Day, June 6, 1944: The Climactic Battle of World War II by Stephen E. Ambrose.

It's a wonderful book about D-Day packed with information about how it was planned and the actual events that took place. If you like WWII this is a book you should definitely get.

I got it because I'm interested in WWII.

well i love learning about WWII and The revolutionary war so maybe i will pick it up.......wats the auther?

wow, thats crazy, I am reading D-Day also right now. Ambrose is a really good author. if you like him, also read Band of Brothers which was made into a mini-series on HBO, and then The Wild Blue which is about B-24s in WWII. I cant believe that he died, it is a real shame

I am reading "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead" for my Senior English class, for my German class I am finishing up "Faust", then for my World Cultures Research presentation I am reading "Forty Lost Years: The apartheid state and the politics of the Nationcl Party, 1948-1994" and "The Making of Apartheid 1948-1961" then for fun (which I barely have any time to read) "Carry Me Home: Birmingham Alabama The Climatic Battle of the Civil Rights Revolution"

I think that's it....

AHH there is another Maggie here now.. this will be interesting! I thought i was the only one :(

i read The Girl Who Owned A City!!! It was real good!!! i love books!!!

The Girl Who Owned a city was really good. right now im in the middle of a few books. Im trying to finish the Two Towers while re-reading the Hobbit. Im reading the Bluest Eye, which is a nice change from GReat Expecations which i just finished in english. I hafta check out that book on D-Day im really interested in anything having to do with WWII. hopefully im gonna major in american history in college, if im still interested in three years :-). my grandpa gave me a good book on WWII about the sinking of a submarine, I haven't started reading it yet but it looks really good!

I'm rereading Jane Eyre for the millionth time, which is just about the loveliest book ever written.

And I'm also reading Testimony, Shostakovich's memoirs. I wouldn't quite recommend it to anyone here, it's heavy stuff.

some other great books are The Firm by John Grisham and anything that Tom Clancy writes.
Kraig

b/c the school years almost over and the finals are soon, in english we have to read 2 books at the same time to finish them... one of them, Great Expectations, i canNOT stand... it is SOOO boring! but the other, To Kill A Mockingbird, is REALLY good! We only had to read to chap 14, but i am already on chap 20 cuz im into it! Also, the Gossip Girl series is really good... i jus finsihed the 3rd book... i forget who writes it but read it!

It's actually a play, not a book, but I just finished Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman for english, and I really liked it! It was one of the few things I've had to read this year that actually held my attention.
