Books regarding 9/11..

Ever since that fateful day, I have been gathering books, photos, videos, newspaper clippings, magazine articles and whatever else I can get my hands on to put aside for my granddaughter (who was just about to turn 3 that Sept.) so that when she's older she'll have a real sense of just what a horrific day that was for this country..

Recently I finished reading "102 Minutes", but a disagreement on another thread here (in regards to the other areas that suffered) made me realize that the majority of what I have read does in fact pertain mostly to NYC..

So - are there books out there about 9/11 at the Pentagon and/or the field in Pennsylvania? If so, could you list them for me?

there's also "Hero of Flight 93 : Mark Bingham (An Advocate Books Life Story)"
& "Among the Heroes: United Flight 93 and the Passengers and Crew Who Fought Back"

have you checked out the different websites that allow family/friends/guests to view different stories on those who were killed?

Thank you for sharing those links.. I wasn't aware that there were any.. In my vast collection I have made a point of gathering whatever is available in terms of "true life stories" so that my granddaughter will know that honest-to-goodness wonderfully "real" people died that day - not just a bunch of numbers.. Thank you again for sharing those sites with me - and my deepest condolences to you and all of your family..

go to http://www.legacy.com if you want to see more of those remembrance pages. I know cnn.com has a special section too. If you can't find in through the cnn homepage, charlie nj has it in his signature. Or he did anyway.
I haven't looked at any of the books yet that go into this. But I've saved many news clippings, my aunt's obit as a result of that day, her page from legacy.com, the Readers Digest and Time magazine stuff that covered it, etc. Eventually I plan to read some of the books, so I'll be watching this thread, but I'm not ready yet.

i think it's great what you are doing.. and so your granddaughter knows the "true life stories".. that there are parents without their kids, wives without their husbands, brothers/sisters without their sibling.. and kids without their moms/dads.. alyson was only 11 days old.. sara only 22 months.. so sad..

Please forgive me if this is insensitive - because it isn't meant that way at all - but do you think your family might grant me permission to print out the page you linked me to that honors your BIL so I might include it in one of the many scrapbooks I'm putting together for my DGD? I will understand completely if the answer is no - but as I have already stated, it is very important to me that my DGD realizes that these were very REAL people - husbands, wives, sons, daughters, mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers - and sadly, even some children who were on the various airplanes that were hijacked.. If the answer is no, I will understand completely, but since the info is on a web page set up as a memorial - rather than publicly printed in a newspaper or such - I think it's only right that I ask permission first..

i wouldn't think that would be a problem at all.. i will ask my dh when he gets home.. but, i don't think he would mind..

yesterday I read some of the released interviews from the rescue workers on 9/11..........

I promise you that I will NEVER forget!!!!
