booking

Hello Ali :wave2: I find that over the phone is much the easiest thing to do. It's instant, free and you can check your points balance to make sure it agrees on the spot. While you are new to the DVC the latter may not be so important as your account is probably straightforward, but if you ever get into banking and borrowing (and owning more than one resort as I do :) ) then it's quite reassuring to be able to check your points balance.

On the downside, I find they sometimes don't understand what I am asking and I occasionally take a moment to work out what's just been said to me - it's the English/English versus American/English thing I think ;) . This is just a small thing though.

As it happens, I sent an email last Wednesday morning to make a booking and I have still heard nothing so will be ringing this afternoon. Should have taken my own advice in the first place ;)

I'd rather do it over the phone so I can check that everything is done correctly.

Using the phone is faster, and thus I think "best." The on line booking isn't in the moment, you have to wait to hear what you get. I didn't like the way it was set up, I think I balked at giving second or third room choices. I didn't see any way of indicating which of my "home" points I wanted used for the under 7 month ressie.

I've always used the phone because it works. Unless they give some clear advantage to on line booking, I always prefer to use a person.

Bobbi :flower:

would they then confirm everything in writing to you (thinking about the special needs ) and also I was waiting until 20th August (return date 20th July) until I made the booking but looking at the dvc booklet it looks I could have made the booking anytime in August :confused3
