Ok,

So I've heard people mention that whilst in WDW they've ended up booking their next trip due to some in-resort adverts with 'while you're here you get a discount' kinda deals.

I don't think I've ever noticed these before, (although we've probably not really been looking!) but with us *hopefully* getting annual passes when we contract for our wedding, it might be worth it for us to see if we can get a good deal to go back for our one year anniversary before the passes expire.

Are these adverts only displayed in certain resorts and / or is there anywhere else this info can be found?
Are there always deals on offer, and are they for different times of the year or over a set period when you have to return?
Also, are they open to anyone (we're in the UK) and just if you live in the US?

Sorry for all these questions, it's just something I thought I'd investigate so perhaps we can moderate the wedding budget to start paying for this possible trip!!
Just an idea at the moment, but it seems a shame to not get more use out of the AP's!!

Oh - and one more thing - in order to get free dining at that time of year, can you get away with buying a 1 day pass and staying for however long, or would you have to purchase passes valid for your whole stay? (Again, just trying to think of some budget ways to go back! :thumbsup2)

When I stayed at Pop Century, there was a circular advertisement on our table. I believe it was open to anyone and gave you a discount if you came between a certain time period. I didn't pay too much attention to it because I couldn't come at whatever time it had on it. The discount was for Fort Wilderness Cabins and I don't remember what hotels but they were not deluxe.
Maybe if you were at a deluxe hotel though you would be given a deluxe choice.

I did that l ast year while df and I were there and I booked for my mom (Mom2mrsdisneyb2b) Her first visit and her birthday! We didnt get a deal though :(

I think I'll just have to keep a look out and ask if I don't see one.
We'll be staying at Pop and hopefully having a 2 night DVC rented stay at the BW, but cheaper the better for any deals they have!

Where / how did you book?
Did you ask if there were any deals as you were on site at the moment?

The pamphlet is put somewhere in the room, usually on the table (or desk at the Contemporary).

When I booked free dining, there was a bounceback offer to book prior to leaving to get free dining this year.

When I've gone at other times, the offer was the current discount offer off value and deluxe resorts.

I think it depends on what/how you booked. Several people who were there last September during free dining but did not book free dining did not receive the bounceback offer. But I've also heard the opposite as well.

I'd just look around the room to see what you can find.

For free dining, it used to be that you needed to have the full package... Magic Your Way and room. Now, so that annual pass holders can participate, you need to buy one day Magic Your Way, and then the dining plan will go for the length of your stay.

Yup we did. But, when we went the second time with my mom, there was a deal. You just speak to the front desk...no biggie :)

We were at Pop Century last Sept. during free dining but were not actually on free dining, but it didn't matter. There was a flyer in our room about a bounceback offer for free dining good at all levels of resort - Value, Moderate and Deluxe. We just booked Pop again cuz it was the cheapest, and we paid for one-day park hoppers cuz we have the Wedding APs.

Then, when we were on our honeymoon, there was a flyer in our room at the Contemporary about discounted rates in September that were different from the bounceback free dining offer. So we changed the last night of our September ressie from Pop to Polynesian. The Dining Plan credits don't expire til midnight on the day you check out (in our case, the day before we leave), so we'll still be able to use the plan on our non-free-dining night at the Poly and just pay for breakfast before we leave the next day.

Hope this helps!

Unfortunatley we miss free dining by about 3 or 4 weeks this time so might not get an offer for the following year.

As you've suggested I'll have a hunt around the room and ask at reception, see if there's anything on offer.

I don't remember seeing anything in our room before, perhaps it's coz we booked through a UK travel agent.

There was possibly a DVC offer at the Boardwalk, but as we were renting and not members this was no good for us.

Will defo be on the lookout this time :thumbsup2
