Disney suggests that they give some sort of deal for booking a future cruise while onboard. Does anyone have any information about this?

Jess

We got $200 shipboard credit in August for rebooking while on board. Had the reservation transfered to DU and got a $150 rebate.

Onboard credit on future cruise was offered based on length---we received $200 for booking seven nite

I know I am probably trying to "get something for nothing" but here's my question. I have a 4 day booked for this Sept. but want to book a 7 day for 2004 anytime within the next month so I can try to get a secret porthole room. I'm scared to wait until my cruise for fear they will all be gone. Is there anyway I could get the $200 credit if my cruise is already booked when I talk to them in Sept?

How far in advance are bookings currently open? For example, is 2005 open on board now? Do the on board bookings open dates earlier than what is available for travel agents?

Kelly, all you can do is ask. It is at their discretion whether or not to do it, but I would book it now if you want the secret porthole (the Early Booking Savings will be better now too).

kendall, the 2005 rates are not out yet and everyone gets them at the same time.

There are sometimes better Early Booking Savings offers when booking onboard, in addition to the onboard credit, it just depends what promotion they are offering. But a word of warning, if you are booking onboard, do it early on in the cruise or you could risk losing out.

Hope that helps,
Cathy

kendall,

I'm not sure if the 2005 dates have opened yet. We were on board the 1/25/03 sailing and we booked the last cruise dates open which was 12/4/04. I wanted the Christmas 2004 cruise because I hear that DCL may change it to a 10 day trip thru New Years. I figured I can always change my dates, but at least I've ensured my $200 on board credit.

Nancy is right, the Christmas 2004 cruise is not available to book yet, but by rebooking and paying the deposit, she has guaranteed herself the onboard credit. She can change the date and will still be eligible for the credit. Smart lady!

ok..one more rebooking question: Is the $200 onboard credit per stateroom. We will be booking 2 cabins on our future cruise (4-10-04) while onboard the Wonder (4-17-03).

Jess

We got two $200 credits when we booked onboard. $200 per stateroom. So, $400 there. Transferred to a travel agent for another $400 discount. So the $400 credit pays tips, the other $400 was taken off the total price of the trip.

wow...Our family of 5 will book connecting staterooms for next Easter (western Magic) while on the wonder this Easter. $400 on board credit is a big incentive for us.

Thanks...

Jess

Well we went ahead and booked two SPH staterooms for next summer--but when we go this summer I'm sure going to ask if we can get anything out of it. If we'd waited I know the SPH rooms would be gone.
