Booking without AP in hand?

Do I need to be in possession of my AP when I book the AP rates or can I book without and present the AP at check-in. We haven't purchased our AP's yet.

Nope, you just needto have it when you check in

No need to have it when you book, just be able to show it - or the voucher you receive after ordering it- at the time of check in
