Booking with Orbitz or Cheaptickets

Need a little help please! I have been reading on the boards that you can combine a Disney room discount with an Orbitz or Cheaptickets discount. But everytime I go to Orbitz or Cheaptickets, no rooms are available! The dates I have been looking at are in February and May 2017. It says everything is sold out. Is this common and more dates open up closer to time or can you only grab a good deal if you get lucky or are only staying a couple of nights?!?!

I can't see that all rooms are sold out so maybe they only get available rooms closer to the time. Some online agencies get unsold rooms from hotels when the hotel doesn't think they will fill them so that could be the case. I booked through cheaptickets about 4 months in advance. You could always book directly with Disney and then if rooms do become available through CT later, then cancel the Disney reservation since they do not charge to do so up until a certain point prior to arrival.

Booked my trip in October through CheapTickets for a total of 38% off, so highly recommend them (worth eating the potential $25 cancellation fee). However, I don't think they have rooms available that far in advance, nor do the discounts work that far in advance. The current discount only works through the end of the year. Also keep in mind that Disney won't release their discounts for that time of year for several more months. Your best option is to either book now with Disney (which is refundable) and cancel if you find a better deal, or simply just wait.

A word of caution: I booked with Orbitz/cheaptickets for a stay at the Hard Rock Hotel at Universal. I saved $150, but when I got sick and had to shorten our stay by 2 nights, we were sore out of luck. I called the hotel directly, and they were willing to refund me the lost days as they said they are flexible when people get sick. It was total of over $500, so I was relieved. But when they saw that I booked through Orbitz company, they said, We are so sorry, but we don't own this reservation, there's nothing we can do, you have to call Oribitz/Cheaptickets. And, of course, Orbitz/CT wouldn't refund us anything, as we were within the 5 days of the trip. So be very, very confident that you won't need to make any big changes. I will never do it again, as I have kids and illness happens. Disney has always been very good about working with customers in a difficult or unexpected spot. Orbitz, not so much. I prefer the peace of mind.

Definitely something to think about! Thanks!

Here's my cancellation policy for check-in on October 26:
Cancellations or changes made before 4:00PM (Eastern Daylight Time (US & Canada)) on Oct 21, 2016 or no-shows are subject to a $25.00 hotel fee.

Cancellations or changes made after 4:00PM (Eastern Daylight Time (US & Canada)) on Oct 21, 2016 or no-shows are subject to a hotel fee equal to 100% of the total amount paid for the reservation.

How do I stack the code for Disney with the code for Cheaptickets? Or is the Disney code already reflected in the price?
The Disney discount is already in the price listed. However, there's no guarantee all hotels or room types have the Disney discount, so keep that in mind.
