Hi all. Just wondering if there is a way to find out if an AP rate is available before I purchase the AP? We don't go more than once a year but I am thinking if I can find a good AP rate, it would be worth it for either DH or I to get an AP. I know you have to show the AP upon check in.

:thanks:

If you are talking about room rates, currently there are discounts through Sept 27. They are usually posted about 2 months prior to the dates. You can check historical infomation on Mousesavers.com. There are other things beside room discounts that might help you decide. There is a General Public discount out there that is just a little more than the AP so if that's the only reason for the AP it might not be worth it unless you will be using the AP at least 13 or 14 days. You have to figure the math.

::yes:: I am talking about room rates. I'll check out Mousesavers. I get their emails. Our trip isn't until next May but I am trying to make a realistic budget for the trip. :thanks:

We went this year and the AP rate we got was $25 off per night on a Value. We didn't check other resorts since that's where we wanted to stay. It was good through May 21. We dd get the DDE card as well since we could use it at the Value food court as well as many TS. For us the AP was worth it since we are returning within a year and we already used 8 days as well as made up most of the cost on the DDE. Hope this helps.

WE have usually been lucky enough to get a room discount, but have purchased the AP based on how many days we would be going in the parks. If we make 2 trips in the timeframe, it's well worth it. Our 2nd and even 3rd visits become very inexpensive!! This is the first time for the DDE, didn't know about it before. There are many other discounts as well as the free parking with the AP as well.

That's exactly what I am thinking about doing, getting the DDE to use on non DDP items. :thumbsup2

Unfortunately we won't be able to go more than once a year, more like once every 1 1/2 to 2 years but with a possible room rate, the DDE, the discount on water park tickets, and the merchandise discounts might make it well worth it. Clearly I am Type A ;) and have been working the numbers like mad. :upsidedow The differnce in price between getting 4 Hoppers and an AP vs 5 Hoppers is only $218 including the cost of the DDE. I can't imagine not being able to make that up. I think I can make that up in food and alcohol discounts alone. The room rate, merchandise discounts, and water park discounts will be gravy. :cloud9:

Are you sure that it is only 218? The cost of the AP is about 450 each adult.

We'll only be getting 1 AP not 5. The rest of the family will still get 10 day Hoppers and we'll buy the water day seperately. ::yes:: Here's the breakdown:

Four 10 day Hoppers, 5 water park tickets, one AP, and the DDE is $1695

Five 10 day Hoppers and 5 water park tickets is $1457

Even further the breakdown is $1004 for four 10 day Hoppers, $144 for 4 water park tickets (before the AP discount), and $448 for the AP. The DDE is an additional $60. But now it comes out to only $1650 which is even cheaper and making the difference only $199.

Five 10 day Hoppers are $1274 and add $183 for the water parks for a total of $1457.

We only need 1 AP to get the discounts, right? We always stay together as far as eating and shopping.

Yes, one is fine. I was just confused and didn't realze you were only getting one. I know you can only book 1 room per pass now though. Used to be more than 1. The DDE is good for up to 10 people.

:thanks: If we could go back again during the year, we'd get 5 but we can't. That's good to know about the DDE. I wish I could find out about this year's May AP room rates. I just don't where to look. :confused3 Mousesavers?

There really isn't anyplace to look. They are not out there as of yet and only come out 2-3 months ahead. You can make your reservations whenever you wish just to have the room. When the codes come out you can apply them. Right now we are going Sept 26 to Oct 3. We have an AP discount for the first 2 days and just have the remainder on regular rate until the codes are out.

Here's what the AP room rates were for this past May (2008):

Annual Passholders code FJC came out Feb. 20, 2008

For check ins between 3/30/08-5/21/08 Annual Passholder room-only rates became available on 2/20/08, exp 5/21/08

Sample AP Rates for check ins between March 30 - May 21, 2008
Value Resorts from $74
Moderate Resorts from $129
Deluxe Resorts from $184 per night
*Rates increased on weekends and holidays.
:dance3:

Do you want the info on the other offers too, or just this AP room only? :cutie:

You can just call CRO or the PASS number they will be happy to quote you or even book without your AP. You just need to have it or the voucher when you check in or you pay full price. To check on line you have to have your pass or voucher #

Can I say I adore you? :teeth: If they offer something similar for next May, The Poly could really be a reality :woohoo:. I would love any historical offer info you've got!!!!!! :flower3: Does the AP rate tend to be the best deal for room discounts?

Gotcha. So you book the hotel you want and hope a good rate comes out? I have a few choices of where I'd like to stay and the rate will be the deciding factor. I think my hubby would flip if I put deposits down on all of them but how much are the deposits? Where are you staying?

:thanks: Awesome! That's good to know.

Right now I am looking at the Poly, WL, AK, and the FW cabins primarily but to be honest if a great rate came out on any resort that sleeps five, I'd be for it.

OK here's more deals from last May to look through- now I will really confuse you!

The only advice I can give is to compare the grand total of any deal that comes along. It used to be easier when AP/FL Res had the best deals, but now with PIN offers to certain people, Bounceback offers, ticket upgrades, etc., it's really hard to predict which will end up saving you the most $$$.

P.S. BTW the current AP Poly deal is probably one you would really like - but you would have to consider changing dates next year ;) and then would also have to figure that up against Free Dining (if offered again). It's always something!

No, good question. You asked a question I wanted to ask. By joining the thread, I get a notification if somone responds. It's sorta like copying off of you during the pop quiz.:rolleyes1

:rotfl2: Gotcha. Sometimes DISers will grab the popcorn smiley when the poo is gonna hit the fan. ;)

Seahunt, I just printed your post so i can read it thoroughly during a meeting I have in 30 minutes. :thanks: That was very kind of you to find that info for me.

I just read the FW Cabins are moderates now; does that mean the price will go down?

Seahunt- wow! :thanks: so much for the great info. It seems the AP rate is not always the cheapest.

I wish I could use the current Poly rate. :cloud9: But alas, DH agreed we'd go back for my 40th which isn't until next year. I never thought I'd want to be 40 faster! :rotfl2:
