Booking while on board

My sister and her husband are cruising soon and have decided to book another cruise while on board. They agreed to book a cabin for us as well. Can they use my cc to put down the deposit on our cabin?

Each household can book 2 staterooms on a single future cruise. It doesn't matter whether your household is cruising in 1 or ten rooms, you can still book 2 staterooms. It is my understanding that if you have two people traveling in a single stateroom, but having different home addresses, they each could book 2 staterooms.

Offer valid for Categories 4–11 only. Offer not valid for concierge-level categories, IGT, OGT and VGT categories with restrictions and 2-night cruises. Yes, your sister can book a cabin for you assuming her family doesn't need 2 cabins for themselves. As PP noted, they are allowed to book 2 cabins on 1 future cruise; the passengers in those 2 cabins do not have to be on the current cruise. If your sister needs 2 staterooms for her own family, they can book a 3rd for you but it will not have the full OBB benefits (no discount, no reduced deposit if applicable).

Being one of those families that needs two staterooms - husband, wife, four children - it seems like DCL punishes big families with this policy. We will be cruising this fall and I hope to rebook with OBB discount for my family as well as for my brother's family. They too require two rooms - another family of 6. I wouldn't expect DCL to allow us to book 2 additional rooms for them using the discount, but I would hope we could get the discount on at least one. Seems short sighted of DCL if this is their policy. They have our 2-room family hooked and if I can get a discount for my brother, I think their 2-room family would be hooked too.

Sorry for the rant, I realize this isn't what the OP was asking about. Just looking to understand this better as our cruise approaches.

Last year I was able to book three rooms onboard. Only two received the discounts, but all three received the onboard credit. This may have changed, but it's worth asking about. Every little bit helps.

Rather than looking at it as if the policy is intended for families to book an extra stateroom for another family, I consider DCL's policy does accommodate those who need 2 staterooms for their immediate family. By allowing an OBB to include 2 staterooms, DCL is recognizing that many families use 2 staterooms; many families of 3 or even 4 use 2 staterooms, especially once the kids are tweens/teens. Yes, it's a bit of a bonus for those who can travel in 1 stateroom that they can use the 2nd for another party, but I don't see the policy as intentionally written to include an extra party. I grew up in a family of 6 so I feel your pain and frustration of traveling with a large family. I don't think a policy can be written that accommodates all the various sizes and needs of families.

If your own family needs 2 staterooms, those will receive full OBB benefits. You can book 2 more for your brother, but they won't receive the discount or reduced deposit.

Consider also using a TA it's not for everybody but I like getting the extra OBC. I use DU. Very good.

My sis only needs 1 cabin. We've actually done this before I just can't remember how we handled the deposit. I'l just go ahead and send my cc info along with them.
