Hello!

I've booked our October trip! :cool1::rotfl2: After seeing other DISers having luck doing this route...I found that the Spanish site was offering 2n free so I got 4 nights at the Santa Fe for just short of £650 :thumbsup2

Only problem is, when I rung to book they said they couldn't take the booking over the phone and that I'd just have to book it online. This is what I've done, but obviously my booking confirmation is now all in Spanish!

Has anyone else done this? Do you think if I email DLP they'll just adjust the booking to be English language or would they make me rebook under the VERY expensive UK offers?

Just leave the confirmation as it is , in spanish. when you check in at the santa fe no~one will bat an eye about which language its in.

What a bargain - congratulations on booking :goodvibes

I was just worried they might start talking Spanish to me and I'd have no clue what they're on about! :rotfl:

Don´t worry.

I´ve never booked over the German site, because there are hardly no offers in Germany. :confused3

I´ve booked over Ireland and the UK in the past and everything went very well at the check in.

It would be funny if you have to speak the language of the country you have booked.

I´m thinking about booking over the Netherland site..... :rotfl2:

Haha well if that happens just ask nicely if they speak English instead... :)

(I booked my last trip on the UK site using a card issued in a different country (and thus with a billing address outside of the UK), leaving the country as the UK. Didn't have any problems at all!)

Congratulations on your booking!

I've booked on a French site this time, and am thinking of printing the booking confirmation out using google translate, and in French. That way they'll have one and so will I ;)

That's a good idea! I shall do just that!

Oh my, it's just hit me.... WE'RE GOING BACK TO THE MAGIC!!! :cloud9:

Another question regarding booking using another country. I booked mine using the Belgian site. Now I would like to purchase the meal plan. What number should I call? I can barely speak French. Can I call the central reservation English number (Paris office)?

Thanks in advance! Have fun planning!!

As long as you get through to the Paris office you should be fine.

I tried to book this deal using the UK number that takes you through to the US. The woman I spoke to had no idea how I could want to book using another countries offer.. in fact she just kept saying "I don't speak Spanish" - I had to keep telling her that nor do I and that I just wanted to book using their better deal! :confused3

In the end she told me to call Paris, but as I'd already spent 1/2 my lunch hour on the phone to her, I decided to just book online and stump the whole balance upfront (I had wanted to just put down a deposit).

Lesson learnt there, always call Paris for DLP bookings! ;)

Thanks for the advice! As I was researching about calling in to make changes, I stumbled on the Flash Sale from the Netherlands. For two nights, I can only get 40% off but that is good enough to upgrade to Hotel New York for €29. :cool1:

I called the Paris office. The recording was in English and that got me worried. The lady was wonderful (she is definitely French), and my connection was not so clear but I did it! The upgrade and the meal plan are all added as wished!! pixiedust: It took me about 15 minutes. I will always call the central reservation office in Paris from now on if I ever get to come back again :lovestruc. I wonder what language my document will be in now. It was in French before. :joker:

I just love the Disboards. Thanks everyone for your advice and experience sharing!! :thumbsup2 Happy planning!! :goodvibes

Woohoo - that's a great price for an upgrade! :cool1:

This is why I love DIS, too. If it wasn't for this site, my trip would have cost me more than £400 more than I've paid! :thumbsup2:goodvibes

We booked from the French deal last year and she spoke to us in English straightway, she must of heard us talking whilst we were queuing.

I would leave it in Spanish, I find it hard to believe they wouldn't let you book over the phone. When we booked last year we said we want the deal that the French have and were transferred over to them.

Congrats on the booking:)

What number do you call for the Paris office? I'd like to try and upgrade my booking using the French flash sale if I can.

We are in Germany and booked through the French site on a flash deal, then decided to upgrade to the meal plan. We were on hold with the Paris booking line for 48 mins, then another 37 mins when they hung up on me when they closed at 8. Finally my husband called the restaurant reservations line and they told us to call Germany. We did, got through in 5 mins, and got exactly what we wanted, even saving 20 Euro off the dining plan for us. At check in we had no problems at all checking in.
