I tried searching for this answer, but had no luck.

We are planning on going to Disneyland and then hoping over to Hawaii for one big vacation. Neither are our home resorts, so we can book them 7 months from our trip date. My question is, do we need to book the FIRST DAY of our stay at the SECOND resort? Because if we tried to do it the first day of stay at the first resort, we would still be days off from our 7 months at the second resort and they wouldn't let us do that, right?

I am pretty sure I am right about this, just wanted to be sure. Thank you!

Yes, you would not be able to book the second resort until 7 months from check in day. We do split stays at Wdw every year and I have to wait for each ones window before booking.

Even if you book 2 different room types in the same resort, you have to wait for 7 months from the second room check-in.

You have two separate reservations since you are at two different resorts (especially in two different locations).
