Booking through Disney website - room only

I just went on the Disney website to check availability for the summer, but I didn't book online because I wasn't sure if the booking rules were the same if I called CRO (I called tonight, but they had just closed). The web states that a deposit is due, and it is non-refundable after 46 days prior to arrival. Are these rules the same as if I were to book through CRO? I will be calling tomorrow morning, but if they are the same, I'll just book online. I book most hotels and air online, so this is no problem for me. I just wanted to make sure that the rules were the same for online booking (CGK code) as they are for CRO. By the way, anyone have any experience with booking online (hotel only) through Disney website?

Thanks, Tiger

Not sure about current payment rules. However, unless the site has changed recently, I do not believe you can book on-line using any discount code. You can only get full price packages or rooms on-line. Thus, you will need to call.

Their site now allows you to book room only and the codes automatically are included when you clike on the Summer Saver area on their site. However if it is stating payment is due 46 days prior that sounds like it is through the WDTC.

You don't have to pay the entire trip off 46 days prior to arrival. You do need to make a deposit of one night's stay. I'm sure this is done to prevent any children from making ressies while on the computer.:) I don't think you need to make a deposit when booking over the phone, but you need to send in your deposit by 2 weeks or something like that. I don't know if CRO has the 46 days cancellation rule. Anybody else?

In answer to my own question for others who are wondering - I just called CRO and booked my rooms with them. They require a 1 night's room deposit by May 19th, and cancellation is available prior to 5 days before arrival. The website, even though it is allowing you to book summer saver rate, is through Disney Travel Co. because they are not allowing cancellation past 46 days before arrival. I would suggest booking through CRO as they are much more flexible with deposits and cancellations - as is usually the case!

Sorry for the confusing message - I just figured other people would want to know this info.
