How far in advance do we have to book the Fantasmic dinner package? (We'll be visiting August 26-August 31) Is this something that I should book now, or can we go on a whim and call in the morning to book it for the night?

We're not big on deciding what we want to do on certain days, months in advance, but we will if we have to.

Thanks! :earsgirl: :earsboy:

I usually go in a less busy season so my experience may not help you. I always wait until the morning when I get to MGM to book my package mainly because if fantasmic is rained out, there are no rainchecks.

I would book now if you know when you want to go. I remember booking late and we had "slim pickings" for seating times and restaurant availability.

The earliest you can book is 90 days before you want to make the reservation. We booked exactly 90 days in advance b/c we were going during a busy season. If you are going in a slower season it probably won't matter.

We booked a few weeks ago for our August trip on Friday the 27th. Had to take a 4:30 reservation but I will try to make it later when our 30 day mark hits. I read here that this is possible...

Last year, we booked the package just 2 days before. Maybe we were lucky!?

 My two DGD's and I will be there August 20 -28th. I called last night for PS for Fantasmic Dinner package and Mama Melrose was booked for a couple of those days already. We did get H&V for 8/24 at 4:10. I would go ahead and book. It could be a busy last week of August. You can cancel 48 hrs ahead.

I booked 60 days in advance and got the evening that I wanted but not the time at all. We are having dinner at 4pm! Oh well, we'll just have a snack at lunch time. I'd advice a call soon.

It is well known now on the Restaurant Board that Disney holds back the later times till almost 20 days before you are going...so if you want a later time try back about 20 days before your trip and a bunch of times will open up!

There's a thread right now about the beginning of August and people geting 6:30p - 7:00p

I'm going August 23 and that has not opened up yet but the CM told me to try in a few days.

I was there last week & I called for my package less than a week in advance. I got a 6:50 seating time - I was told the latest seating time for this package is 7:00.
