Booking The Beak & Barrel on Aug. 14th

Can you book for a party of 3 and modify it to a party of 2 afterwards? I don't know if that works with pre-paid reservations, but I've done it before with regular reservations.
Yes! Since it's pre-paid, you do have to call, but they will refund you for the extra person. Or list the 3rd person as being under the age of 2 so you don't even have to worry about the refund, then just tell them there are going to only be two people in your party when you get there.

When we are booking a reservation for 2 for pre-paid events like this, there's often no availability for 2. Instead, we book for 3 people and make the 3rd person an infant (so no fee required). We just tell them that only 2 people are dining when we arrive.
Yep - we've done that and it works sometimes. However, be careful with fireworks dinner - we did that at Rose & Crown and they called us on it. We were very nice (and overly honest), they were very nice - and they charged us for a third person.

It's probably easier to just make the 3rd person an 'infant', so no charge for the 3rd person.

Sorry for jumping in the middle of this conversation but are you talking about Beak & Barrel as being pre-paid???

Hmmm, really? We have done it for that particular experience, and have done it again for our next trip!! I hope we won't have any trouble (we didn't last time). We've never, ever been able to book a table for 2 for that experience. Fingers crossed!

It wont be under Be as it starts with The Beak, so will be in the T's.Tyson. though guess that depends overall what restaurants are available as to where it falls in the list.
It will be in there just as The Crystal is under my Be Our and before The Diamond... depends on the day and what you're seeing.

People wouldn’t have to pull such shenanigans if Disney would just offer seating for 2. I know they want to make more money, but not all of us are a big group.

Seriously, what does it take to add a restaurant into the available pool, especially when that should have been staged at least by the night before? Like what could we be waiting for at this point?

Well, folks, I've been at this for five hours, and I have to move on at this point to other things I need to do for other clients today. I'll keep checking back, but I have to stop refreshing constantly which means that reservations should load in 3, 2, 1... ;)

I assume Beak and Barrell is going to be like GEO-82 - where I had to make a reservation for 3 people and then change it via the app down to 2 people - it's irritating as hell.

I used to be sad I missed the geo-82 drop... after today I'm not :)

GEO-82 I struck out on for my Fourth of July trip but I was able to grab an 8:15p one for this coming trip thanks to alerts from Mouse Dining, and for 1 at that. These new places they tend to load ADRs in batches so ironically it can be a bit easier to snag one maybe a month or two later when they batch add a bunch of slots. Same thing happened with Roundup Rodeo, we went maybe a month after it opened.

The ONLY reason I'm going through this clown show for Beak & Barrel is because I head down on 8/27 for my Labor Day weekend trip and have a ticket for the 8/29 Halloween party anyway, and I know this is pretty much the only chance i'll have to get anything for opening day. I don't mind elsewhere in the trip, I'm there until 9/2, but it'll be way less convenient as I move from CR to Swan on 8/30.

So how do you think it got fully booked for 60+ days when not 1 person has gotten thru & CMs haven’t been able to book either???????
Just sharing what I saw! Very possible others have seen them to, just not people on this sub. I didn't attempt to book because the date was no good for me. Hoping everyone else is correct and it was just a glitch on my end. I'm still checking back to try and snag one.
