Booking the Adagio.......and some general info and stuff

the frenchlife website is pants,i always find it best to phone them for a quote

like i say,the frenchlife brochure says you can start your holiday on any day .....

it is quite expensive but if you arent "paying" for it..... :thumbsup2 ...... £34 per person per night isnt so bad

if you can get "free" accom and travel ( use clubcard for eurotunnel too) then its only spends and ticket money to find ( we buy annual passes)

I would love to do this but I am too scared to drive. I am a terrible driver and DH doesn't drive.

:( ah it does limit you a bit then

are you close to one of the budget airlines airports ?
to take advantage when they have cheap flights ?

you can use tesco deals (converted to airmiles) to go by eurostar ,although its not such a great conversion rate as normal deals unfortunately :(

xx

Our nearest airport is Coventry and the budget airlines don't fly to CDG from there. After that it's BHX and Air France. I wish I lived near the Eurostar.

I wouldn't drive either, but I've never had a whole package, including flights/transfers to DLRP, either with a travel agent or with Disney. I just don't think I would get as good a deal with a package as doing it all seperately myself.

ie return flights, one adult, one child, £99
return transfers, one adult, one child, £45
annual passes (when bought, total of 179 euros, which, at the time, came to £132)
Santa Fe for 2 nights £92 (cheapest room price I've had with AP discount so far)
So for that trip, the total cost was £368 for 2 nights and 3 days. In that trip, I used my Dream AP to its fullest for discounts, and saved around 40 euros on restaurants and shopping. So say £372 less £30 in discounts = £342.

The cheapest package I've had (hotel and tickets) was £164 for the same number of nights/days. So with my flights and transfers, that would have been £308. However, my AP is my park ticket for at least a year, and the following 2 trips within that year cost me £270 total (offsite) and £236 total respectively, less at least another 50 euros worth of savings on shopping/restaurants using AP discount.

Sorry, I've totally rambled there - but the gist is, booking it all separately works for me :rotfl:

OT
Well I'll be lucky to get a wet weekend in Porthcawl this summer with my Clubcard Deals :rotfl:
Where on earth are you all still getting points from ?

but not the past 2 quarters as they have been pants to say the very least :(

i may even end up having to pay some cash towards our summer trip, if i dont have enough points for adagio and eurotunnel! :(

TOTALLY O/T, but having lived not far from Porthcawl for a long time, I know how desperate things would have to be to face a wet weekend there. :rotfl:

No, but I lived over b'there between the ages of 6 and 18.:goodvibes

Who do you fly with?

I would be happy with a weekend in Porthcawl. :lmao: I have booked our summer holiday in Porthmadog (thank you Mr Tesco).

I've never been to Porthcawl but a wet weekend there doesn't sound particularly appealing. I'd rather go to DLRP thankyou.
My Tesco points were from the previous quarter. I haven't bothered checking but I presume I don't have any this quarter! However I have 2 stays at Adagio booked for 2009, both starting on a Sunday. That was the date I asked for so i don't know if I paid a supplement to start that day, but it certainly wasn't a problem.
Of course, my children have requested to go back to the Holiday Inn because of the great bunkbeds. I can't remember what the sleeping arrangements are at Adagio (we have the large apartments) but I don't think they include bunkbeds so I suspect I'm in trouble.

in our apartment sleeping 6,the boys had bunks in their room

not room for much else in there though ! just a small built in cupboard / wardrobe and under bed storage baskets

though they did like the fact their room was overlooking the pool :)

lol @ not checking tesco points
i havent been much, and not used any codes or anything
i doubt i am even over the 2k mark ! :(

Well bunks is a good start. Holiday Inn had a curtain round the bunks (as we were all in the same room) and their own lights and TV. That might be the attraction even though the TV was never turned on!

:rotfl: like their own little den

well there is no TV but a little wall light by each bed :thumbsup2

Lights is good! My daughter wanted it on all night and amazingly she did sleep all night with it on!

Is there a trick in getting loads of mr tesco points ,we dont have a car so the petrol points are out. The furthest we have got with our club card deals is planet hollywood in london and a day at chessington lol:rotfl:
