Booking TDR Hotels

You can book that evening at Hilton or the same hotel of the VP. If you have energy, consider thr twilight entry ticket as an option. Then next day start the vp bright an early....pickup the package as early as 7am at the designated hotel.
Thanks. I understand it better now. Plan to do just that. :)

Is it better luck to book a package for a night since they seem to open up earlier to book over the standard 4 month hotel bookings? Or do VP's and straight hotel bookings open at the same window. Also - do Disney TA's have any advantages to booking?
Thanks!!

VP open a month before room only. Some views/hotels are incredibly difficult to get at room only. Book VP first then see what you get for room only.

Thanks - Great advice! I am thinking of booking a 1 night VP then a few nights regular....It is unwieldy to say the least on their booking process

Sorry, but what is a VP? Is it a vacation package? Still trying to understand how to get a room for 3 consecutive nights so we won't have to move.

VP is vacation package yes. From what I can glean- and i bought a booklet by a guy who lives there which is very helpful - VP's are 1 or 2 nights only. To book 3 or 4 nights you must book room, then later book tickets.

I am mentally preparing for the release on August 6th (late January 2 night VP). I

f I understand correctly, I have to be online and ready at 2am (EST), so up around 1:45am. I need to be logged into my account, then just hope I don't have to wait too long to enter the TD website. Any tips that will help me? I am thinking either the new Fantasy Springs Hotel or MiraCosta. My only worry with the new hotel is the location in the park and the long walk to TDL for early access. (or is there early access to TDL for FS hotel guests?). I'm hoping for the all inclusive VP since ds isn't very patient and I know he won't enjoy it as much if I'm constantly on my phone trying to get access to the headliners.

Any and all tips appreciated!

I was hoping that things would die down a little for our trip in February but it’s not looking like it… I was going to (and may still) try to reserve for 1/31 though we check in 2/1 just so I know what to expect. I’d hoped to adjust the check in day later but sounds like that doesn’t work, which seems like it’s probably a good thing.

I just keep telling myself if I can’t get FS for our VP at least we will save money and have the same benefits anyway…

My (current) plan is to take a taxi from the Hyatt House Shibuya on the morning of January 30 to TDR (the day we check-in). Since I got the all inclusive package we won't have to worry about making early entry to Disneyland, but I'd still like to be in the park by 10am (ds and I are both early risers so it shouldn't be an issue). I don't really want to do a 1 night stay closer to TDR since from what I can gather it's only a half hour taxi ride from Shibuya to TDR.

I'll think you'll be able to grab Feb VP's at FSH just fine. There are still tons of availability the morning after the Jan release. It should keep getting easier!

I do hope so...! When I woke up this morning I was able to start working on a package but it sold out while I was trying to add dining reservations (I had no plans to actually buy, so nbd). I had much better luck once I moved to a proper computer, so I'll start there when I'm trying for real!

Can someone please remind me how far in advance the packages are released? And how far in advance the hotel nights are released?

I had to take time off from planning to go on a trip and I kind of forgot what I knew.

Also any advice would be appreciated.

VP is 5 months out
hotel booking is 4 months (by day)

Thank you so much! I really appreciate this. I'm planning multiple trips at a time (plus multiple cities/locations in Japan) and keeping track of when I need to book things is driving me crazy. I'm going to write this down today. :goodvibes
