We need a little help. Do you find it is better to book your shore excursions 1) online, before we leave home 2) while we are on the ship or 3) once we get off the ship and deal with the locals independantly? We are doing the land/sea package in June and will visit Nassau and of course CC. I realize anything we do on CC will have to be booked through Disney, but should we do the booking before we leave home to avoid the lines @ guest services and chance the reservation get fully booked?

One more question, we will have our dgd (age 3) with us, are the bikes @ CC equiped for child bike seats so we could have her ride with us and will we need to pay additional for her?

Thanks in advance for all your help! I love these boards!!!!

Still can't figure out how to get my countdown clock on my threads

if you are interested in parasailing at CC, then that would be one that I would book in advance. Parasailing there is limited, and it might be sold out if you wait until you get on the ship to book it.

We are doing the land/sea and will be on the Wonder Feb.26. We booked everything by phone ahead of time. We booked the Seahorse Snorkel, the Glass Bottom Boat tour at CC and the Blue Lagoon beach day in Nassau. It would be a good idea to decide what you want to do and set it all up before you get on the ship in case things fill up. Hope this helps.

Thank you Sherr. I am going to call now and book our excursions.
You have a great trip and we'll look forward to reading your trip report.

you can call DCL 60 days before your cruise to book your excrusions if you booked via DCL. if not you can always book onboard. the parasailing on CC is booked full(not always) in the warmer months. if you booked through a TA i would still call TA and ask them how to book excrusions. but best bet is call DCL 60 days before your cruise. i hope this helps

One more question about parasailign at CC. If I book, do I pay in advance? I think DD7 wants to do this, but she may chicken out when we get there. Are we out the money?

No, you are not paying in advance. It is charged to your KTTW. I think though there was an age requirement for the parasailing, so you may want to double check on the DCL website for info on this excursion. Seems like the age was 8, but i could be way off on this.

i booked thru all seas travel and there was no problem booking my excursions in advance. It was great. I didn't have to worry about anything being full and it was one less thing to worry about on the ship. Do it all now, so your time on the ship will be worry free.

the first time we cruised DCL, i never did get the excursion packet from the TA, so i went directly to their web site to get prices and descriptions of services. If you TA doesn't get you the info, i would go ahead and look at the site, and call. Don't wait too long for them to get you the info, especially for limited and popular excursions.

good luck!

My DD10 did parasailing on th 1/24 and LOVED IT!. My husband had to go with her.

I took the 3 teenage boys bottom fishing at CC and I have never had so much fun! We LOVED IT! There were 7 guests on the boat fishing...we caught over 40 fish in a few hours. We hooked 5 sharks and were able to get 3 into the boat! One was 40 pounds! The guys who ran the excursion was Patrick and he was wonderful. His direct web site is www.fishwithpatrick.com.

We booked our excursions at 60 days out as well. I know the Dolphin and submarine were sold out and parasailing at CC sold out. You have up to 48 hours before the excursions to cancel. They were very nice on at the excursion desk and very helpful.
Have fun and good luck!

tross,
Yes, my DH had to parasail with DD10. I think it was a weight limit issue. My DD10 loves roller coasters ... the bigger the better....
but this was very easy she said, nothing like a roller coaster.
