booking seats with BA

If you book your flights with BA online can you see what seats are avaliable to book under the new pay for your seats scheme before making your reservation?

You do need to make your reservation first and then choose the "choose my seats" option which can be found on the "manage my booking section". It will then take you to your individual flights and you can then see the choice of seats before paying the extra to book them now.

For £20 pp each way I am just going to check in online 24 hours before my flight and not pay that ridiculous amount. I'm sure I will find 2 seats somewhere on the flight!

Just to reconfirm, you do need to have actually made the reservation before you can access the seat booking option, but I'm not sure if you call BA they would let you know whether your preferred seating available on a particular flight? We had to call to make seat reservations for our last flight as the new policy came in after our tickets were booked, and certainly they were quite happy to let me know what seats were free before I made the decision to go ahead and pay for the reserved seats. HTH!
