Hi -

I have one night booked at RPH just to get FOTL for two days. We will be there Easter weekend after our Disney cruise. My plan is to go to IOA on Easter Sunday, as we don't get off the ship until Saturday and I figure trying to get into WWoHP would be easier using the early entry we'll have. Sunday is really the only day for that. My question is, we don't intend on using the room at all. Will there be some sort of problem with that. Also, does my plan look good, US on Saturday and IOA on Sunday. Those are the only days we have, as we're flying home on Monday. I'm expecting HUGE crowds, but hope FOTL will help. Any advice you can give will help!

Thanks!

You'll be arriving from your cruise, Saturday morning? What time?

You won't be using the room at all? Will you be sleeping there on Saturday night, or is it Sunday night?

Cheers!

There shouldn't be. Just check in at the front desk, get your room keys, and go.

I hope to arrive around 10am. No we won't be using room at all. Staying at WDW on our DVC points.

Why not save your points and use the room at RPH? It is a lovely resort and so close to IOA!

We have recently bought a resale add-on that had points available and wanted a bigger space than the reg room at RPH, and a kids suite was $600 a night. So just paying for the one night to get two nights of FOTL seemed like a bargain as we wanted to stay two nights. So, it's either $400 for one night and use our points for two nights and get a treehouse at SSR, or pay $1200. The cheaper option sounded like a winner to me.....

Make sure you get a room key for each member of your party. Without a room key for each, you won't get early entry or express.

I can't speak for the OP, but we just aren't fans of single hotel rooms---we've gotten used to staying in 2BR condos instead. Our next Orlando visit will be a week at HGVC-Sea World. Booking one "throwaway" night at one of the resorts looks to be quite a bit less expensive than two days' worth of Express Pass passes for the four of us.

Makes sense, I'd choose the cheaper option as well. :)

sounds like a great plan.

many have been booking a room onsite with no intentions of using it.

most come out ahead in the deal.

2 days of unlimited usage of express lines and early entry.

if i was in the op's situation, i would do it also.

This is what we found as well on our New Years trip. We were able to book one night at RPR and receive unliminted FOTL passes for the three of us cheaper than if we purchased two days worth of Express Passes four our family.

Then, when we went to "check in", they told us the room type we reserved (two queens....which was our cheapest option at the time of booking) had been oversold. They were offering guests the opportunity to change their room to a hospitality suite (which has a full kitchen, dining area, and a queen sized pull out sofa....they also offered to bring us in a complimentary cot) and reduce our nightly rate to $98. Considering we hadn't planned to stay there anyway, we jumped on the offer. Two days worth of unlimited express passes for three people each day for $98 can't be beat!

For the record, the hospitality suite was lovely. We could have easily stayed in this room and save us the extra money had we been planning to actually sleep at this hotel.

We do this all the time as we usually stay in a 2 BR at DVC. We hate to move during a vacation but we want the FOTL and early entry into WWOHP while at IOA/US. We have Universal APs so we many times get the AP rate.
