If I book a room only and get a discount code can I add the dinning package to it?

I don't know about discount codes (except APs), but you can't add dining to a room-only. You have to get a package. You can get everyone a one day base ticket - that allows you to add the dining.

You need a package with at least a one day theme park ticket to get dining.
