I don’t know if anyone can offer an insight into how this will work. My friends and I are booking our trip for our Princess Half weekend as soon as we are able. One friend is an annual passholder, while the rest of us aren’t. In the past this has never been a problem, we would just do a room only reservation and buy tickets. With the new reservation system and only the ability to make package reservations, how can this work? If we all need to have the same ticket type to have a package? Clear as mud, huh!

Any ideas or thoughts?

It is not clear that we can only make package reservations for 2021 when those open for booking. On DTA it states, "Reservations for stays in 2021 will begin booking on Wednesday, June 24. Only Guests with a valid theme park ticket or Annual Pass will be able to access the Disney Park Pass reservation system." So we really don't know if it's only packages or if they will book room-only reservations as well. I'm planning on calling to see what my options are (I'm also an AP). If they say no room-only reservations, I going to ask if they will book a "basic package" which is essentially a room-only under package terms and conditions. If you have to book a room and ticket package so the non-AP guests in your room have access to tickets, your AP friend could always save their package ticket toward their next annual pass renewal. I don't think we are really going to know what is available to book until a few of us start getting through on the phone lines on Wednesday.

The friend who is an annual passholder should be able to make a room only resort reservation, according to Disney statement listed above. There is no hurry to purchase theme park tickets, though, since your trip isn't until February, 2021 and hopefully, things will be back to normal by then. :)

So im a newer AP and have never booked a resort room - it sounds like I might be able to book a room for 2021 tomorrow?
