Hey guys,

Just looking for some advice and tips from people who have ever booked a runDisney race registration through one of the suggested travel providers on the runDisney website. I completed the Tower of Terror 10 Miler earlier this month and had such a great time, I now consider myself a runDisney addict. I was waiting to see if I could successfully complete the ToT 10 Miler before I did anything crazy like sign up for a half. Obviously, by the time I finished the ToT, all future runDisney races were sold out. I wracked my brain on how I could join and joining a charity team was too expensive, but apparently the loophole of getting into a race was doing it through a travel agent listed on the runDisney site.

I booked a 3 night stay at All-Star Sports and an entry into the Donald Half in January through GET Travel and a Princess Half Marathon Entry through Stay Fit USA. Each company asked me for some personal information, but nothing as thorough as what I filled out on Active.com so I'm just wondering how it usually works when you book through a third party. After I booked the Donald Half through GET, I received an email confirmation from Active.com, but it says i'm registered for 2014 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend - GROUPS and I have no idea what that means.

I plan on contacting those travel providers for my technical questions, but just wondering how well booking registration through a third party has worked for others.

TIA! :thumbsup2

Id like to hear peoples experiences too. We are looking to book through Get Travel for the Tinkerbell Half.

I think its weird that we have to call them to register instead of doing it online. Which means Im sure they will try to sell me everything under the sun while Im on the phone with them.

I booked the Tinkerbell Half and a hotel room for two nights that were not available through Disney.

I did some research first and this seems to be a reputable company. I also talked with them a couple times and they we're very helpful.

I do find it interesting that when I got my registration confirmation from Active.com and tried to look it up, I got a " you are not authorized to view this registration" message.

I too would be interested to hear others experiences. What is the process? I had to purchase a one day ticket with my registration - do they and this to me via US mail or do I pick it up?

If it helps, I get the same message when trying to view my Princess registration and I registered for it directly with Active. I can't help with the rest.

Me, too, for 1/4 of the things I registered for. Not quite sure what I did wrong but I'm not actually worried about it.

Can you just buy the registration and the park ticket? Are they going to try to sell me a hotel room. The placed we want to stay we found it cheaper through expedia when we added it to our flights then through them.

If you're talking about if you book through GET Travel, it's either or I believe. They would only let me purchase a race registration for the WDW Half in January if I booked either a minimum 3 night stay or tickets. I work for a certain Mouse, so I definitely didn't need the tickets. I chose the resort stay (even though it wasn't discounted as well as it would be if it were coming from my "boss") because I figured at least I could invite my mom to come down and she'd have a place to stay that wasn't my couch. I was obviously just really desperate to get into the race. I plan on calling GET soon to see if they will give me my resort res number so I can link it onto my My Disney Experience account.

As for the other company I worked with to book my Princess Half, if you guys have questions, you can inbox me. I don't want to give my honest negative opinion on a public forum.

I too will confirm that with GET travel it is either a room or a park ticket that you must purchase to register for a race. My sister booked the room so I had to uh ya one day ticket since we did them at different times.

Check out Acclaim. I booked my Enchanted 10K through Jim and I got exactly what I needed.

Another vote for Jim at Acclaim. NO extra charges required and no hard sell. I'm so psyched to be signed up to the Enchanted 10 k-- my first Disney race!

We booked through Get Travel, which included the park ticket so it was nice.

the process was a little strange but managed to get everything done and get in on time.

Thumbs up for Jim and Pat at Acclaim Travel. Very helpful and always answer the phone. Never tried to sell me on anything. I believe they still have spots for upcoming races with no hotel stay needed (but they would always appreciate the business is what they say) highly recommend.

Update: Just booked a last minute entry into the Tinkerbell Half with GET Travel. Very pleasant experience again and they didn't require me to book a hotel stay. The price of the race entry includes a 1 day park ticket and is required when purchasing the entry.
