ok we have 2 home resorts... AKV and BCV.
Trip planned for summer at BCV. We want 8 nights and so far have 5 booked. Need to use AKV points for the other 3 and it is not time yet.

So say our reservation starts the 10th. we currently would have 10th-15th booked w/BCV pts and need to book 15th-18th. On the 7 month mark of the 10th... would I be able to change our 5 nights w/BCV points to start 3 days later, and book those first/extra 3 days using the AKV points to therefore have all nights? Assuming all is available of course. OR would I need to wait til the 15th and leave reservation as is, then add the 3 nights.

You will need to wait until the window for that 6th night opens to extend your reservation with non-home resort points. (So in your example, you would have to wait until the window for the 15th opens to use AKV points).

We cannot use non-home resort points to book anything until the 7th month opens. To add to your existing BCV reservation before the 7th month window opens, you would have to use home resort (BCV) points. To do otherwise,would allow non-home resort points to bypass the home resort priority period the owners of the home resort (BCV) are entitled to have.

I'm sure that's not what you wanted to hear. So hope your dates are still available when it's time to add the last few nights to your reservation. Good luck!

I understand that... but...if i moved my beach club reservation to start on the 12th...then on the 7 month from the 10th i could book 3 nights w/AKV points? then it could all be done on the 10th right?

Assuming that there is additional availability for those first nights, not counting what you currently have booked, you could call to have MS cancel and rebook.

But if BCV is currently booked up at that time, you could not pull a switcheroo with non-home resort pts, no. MS will not reallocate the pts used in a way that defeats home resort priority.
