Booking question

So I finally got my points and booked our first DVC stay for Nov 15-22 in a 2 bedroom at SSR. AKV had a standard view 2 bedroom available for all but sunday night so I wait listed the whole week am I better off just stalking the site myself looking for the sunday? I don't really want to take my chances and book AKV for all nights but the 1 and hope it comes through. What do the experts think?

I would keep an eye out for your entire stay on the online system, but I would not book a partial stay especially since you already have the entire vacation booked at SSR.

The odds of getting 1 night is greater than getting a full week.

The odds at a large resort are greater than a smaller one.

The waitlist process is a crap shoot, many report better success checking daily on their own.

I think you have a much better chance to book the nights at AKV and wait list 1 night as well as stalk the website for it, than having to wait list the entire week.

However, that also requires you to be okay with having to move that 1 night if it doesn't come in...if you are not okay with that, especially if the night you are missing is not the first or last night, then your only choice is to keep it as you have it now.

I personally have had good luck with booking what I could and waitlisting and stalking...but, I am also someone who doesn't mind the split stay to get what I want...

Just a quick update. I've been stalking the site for a while now with no luck.. more days were unavailable than when I started. But magically I checked this morning and a 2 bedroom std view was available for the whole week..yay. Not only do we get to stay where we wanted its 33 points less than SSR. Obviously the wait list system is flawed as I had one for this situation set up.

The waitlist is an automated progam within the DVC application that only runs at certain time of the day (no one know the time or how many times per day).
Many people have reported getting their waitlist by stalking the website, during the morning and early afternoon before the waitlist program runs.
