Is there any difference to booking one way vs. round trip? Here's my issue. I have a voucher coming with funds I want to use for Southwest. We're going Columbus day weekend...I'm afraid my early flight will book up going there. So I thought I could book that one now, then use the voucher to book the return trip since we're more flexible w/times then. Any suggestions? Any issues w/booking separately?

I have heard that booking One way tickets are the way to go with Southwest. This way you have more flexiability to make changes if a DIng comes along. I just booked our flights down. Have yet to book return. Prices seem too high. I will wait to see if I can get a DIng.

I also booked our flights in groups of 2 people. (We have six people going) This way if a Ding comes out and I can only get 4 seats, I can still scoop them up.

Hope this info is helpful.

I did the same thing because I was waiting for vouchers to come in-- I booked the one way trip to MCO, with no return yet. It has made me a bit more obsessive about checking for Dings, but hey-- worst case scenario, we are stuck in Orlando!
