Booking question: borrowing points from next UY

Ok, new here, so bear with me. We have a Feb UY, just FYI. We plan to travel next June, and cannot book yet (hoping not to stay at home resort, want to try something different) So I'm just planning and thinking ahead right now.
When my booking window for June non-home resort opens in November, I will be almost out of my 2016 points, and will need to use 2017 points for our trip. Since our trip falls within my 2016 UY, I know I can borrow for that trip. My question is, when do these points show up to be able to use to MAKE a reservation? Will they not show up until Feb 2016? Or since the reservation is in 2016 it will let me use my 2017 when I make the reservation online? Or do I need to call?

When you bought you actually received all the points until the end of your contract. The restriction on when they can be used is based upon your UY and whether they have already been banked or borrowed. That's a bit of the long story.

Short story - when you book in Nov you will be able to borrow the 2017 points for the June 2016 stay with your Feb UY.'

And yes, you can book online. When you come to selecting points it will have check boxes for you to borrow next to the 2017 points you have available. You'd only have to call in the case you wanted to buy one time UY points - or if there was a glitch in the process.

Points need to be available for the time of your stay, not when you book. You can bank, borrow, and make reservations online.
