Booking over Labor Day Weekend-- how hard?

Hi All, we have two offers in on DVC resale contracts. One of the contracts has some banked points that need to be used by 8/31/13 and, unfortunately, it looks as if the only time we can use them will be over Labor Day weekend. We expect to close at the end of April and will be looking for a 5 night stay in a studio or one bedroom. Is it crazy to think there will be availability for that weekend when we're able to book in May? That will only be 4 months out. We are thinking 8/30-9/4.

Labor Day time as a general matter is one of the easiest holiday times to get with DVC. But not being able to reserve until four months out means many things are likely to be full. SSR will undoubtedly be open and probably OKW. AKV is also a possibility. Any others are very often full by 4 months out almost any time of year although you won't really know until the time comes to reserve.

I think we would be super happy at OKW in a one bedroom or AKV anywhere, and although I would be happy with SSR I have an 11 year old who has dubbed it "boring." Just based on photos, so who knows what she'd really think. Thanks for the information!

Wait, if the points have to be used by Aug 31 this won't work....you have to complete your trip using these points by Aug 31st...not just book something before the 31st.

Yes, I'll have two reservations. One of my contracts only has 25 points, and that's the one that needs to be used.
