booking on SW & AT for same flight

Confused?

We are cruising in June and SW has flight, but I have a travel credit for AT. Since I can't use my credit booking an AT flight through SW, could I book mine through AT and the rest of the family throught SW?

Since it's a cruise, we will have two checked bags and I hate to pay baggage fees if I don't have to. Is there a downfall that I'm not considering?

Sounds good. You personally won't be able to select your seat in advance in any way. You could purchase EBCI for all the booked-through-Southwest passengers and they can hold you a seat when they board.

Yes you can do that. Then those that booked through SWA will get to take 2 pieces of checked luggage for free on Airtran
