Here is a question for those just back from sailings... What are the current on board specials DCL is offering at present? On another thread it was said a 400. on board credit for selected sailings in Aug & Sept 04. Any other special dates/offers (other than the usual on board credits?). I am sailing in September & would like to prepare before going for some possibilities for future cruises (look at calendars, consult with family etc). Since you can't dally, I would like to know which of the promotional dates are good for me.

Thanks

There are 6 different sailings where you get the $400 onboard credit. August 7, 21 and Sept. 4 (2004) - Eastern with stops in St. Thomas, San Juan and CC; Sept. 18 and Oct. 2 (2004) - Eastern with stops in Antigua, St. Thomas and CC; Dec. 18, 2004 (10-night). You get a $200 credit for all other 7-night cruise bookings and $100 credit for 3 or 4-night bookings. My family booked 3 different rooms - Cat. 10 for $1797; Cat. 8 for $2099; Cat. 6 for $2599. Rates will rise closer to sail date, but we just booked on Aug. 8. Hope this helps!

What if...

I booked on board and got the onboard credit and then wanted to change the dates - do you still get the onboard credit?

How about moving ressies to TA?

How about adding someone to the ressie?:teeth:

We booked onboard and recieved a $200 credit and they transfered the booking right back to AAA. We also are planning on moving the date, once 2005 opens up. The DCL rep said that there would be no problem in doing that.

the Sept '04 sounds good to me but we don't sail until Feb. I wonder if they will still be offering it?

I was told by DCL rep that in order to qualify for the $400.00 stateroom credit for those select Aug and Sept sailings, you must book onboard prior to 12/31/03

Does anybody know about point "specials" for DVC early booking?

Thanks!!
Ginny

We asked about booking with points onboard and were told that we would have to book through DVC and lose the onboard credit. My understanding is that the points are negotiated at the beginning of each year and I don't think they have any specials for early booking. We booked this past cruise 11 months prior (the earliest you can book through DVC) and were charged amount of points listed in the member guidebook.

Latest offer is between 12- 26 points discount for the 7 nighter and13-14 points discount for the 3 and 4 nighter.

EXAMPLE -

Category 6 with 2 adults - 186 each regularly; 174 each onboard offer that you have ONLY 3 business days to call DVC to book.
The offer for the August 2-9 cruise expires Wednesday August 13.

So Rae, you have only two more days to book the 1/31 Western. What's the hold up here????

ALSO, I forgot to add that there were several dates for 2004 that if you booked on board - you could get a $400 room credit! That's for the Magic - 7 night cruise....

I had the 2004 dates already booked and was able to rebook on board, keeping the same room/dining time! It pays to politely ask!!!

Mom voted NO! Why else would I not have done it!!!!!!

You know how we have to listen to our Moms!!!

Tell your mom that Karyn and Jill really really want her to come and that she would rather be in the Caribbean than anywhere up north in the first week of Feb!

You have two days to convince her! AND if you come with us you will get to celebrate MY 50th - hey, I'm coming w/you on yours!

Karyn

PS. I'll bring the rum for the mango soup! Can you imagine us pouring shots out of a hip flask into our soup at Topsiders! Makes me giggle just to think of it!

Can someone please set me straight on booking while on board? Say I pick a date before my cruise so I can book on board, then get a quote of $2200 from my travel agent. While on board I go ahead and book with all intentions of transferring my reservation back to the travel agent. Will the travel agent take the $200 credit off my original quote to make the price $2000? If they didn't I'm not sure what the incentive would be to book while on board.

The on board credit is a credit to your room account. It is not a reduction to the cost of the cruise. The cruise will still cost $2,200. However, you will have $200 spending money while on board the cruise you just booked.

Thank you Rae! We are hoping that we'll get a good deal while we're on-board.

:D

SSVANDYKE listed all of the dates that are eligible for the $400.00 shipboard credit. We booked the 8/7 San Juan cruise.

Starwood, the shipboard credit is offered by Disney. If you transfer it over to a TA, it stays with the reservation. One stipulation, Disney does not combine shipboard credit offers. In other words, if you try to get the Disney Visa shipboard credit offer on top of this, they can't do it.

You still get the credit if you change dates, but keep in mind that the $400.00 offer only applies to a few specific sailings. You'll get the $200.00 credit if you change to date that's not eligible.

The credit is for the room, not the number of guests. Right now ours is booked for 2 of us, but we may be adding our DD's. (We made certain to book a room that can hold up to 4 guests.)

When/if you add your DD's to your reservation will the per person price be the same as when you booked it or will you have to pay a higher price for DD's if the price of the cruise goes up? It would be nice to only have to pay $500 deposit instead of $1000.
