Booking off site hotels through disney

Hi

Does anybody know what number you call to book the off-site hotels through Disney direct? I have a dream pass and have been told it's a different number than the one you ring for the on-site hotels.

I didn't know you could book room-only at offsite hotels through Disney ?
I would think though, as the normal brochure number does work for booking onsite hotels with annual passes, that number would work for offsite too (if its possible to book those at all through Disney).

I use the hotels own booking sites (Explorers, Holiday Inn, Dream Castle, Kyriad) or Expedia, or Benotel, for booking offsite hotels.
