Booking Next Trip While Cruising

Good afternoon.

I was hoping to get some feedback from the experienced DCL cruisers. The first part of our honeymoon was on the Magic back in 1998. 10+ years and 3 kids later we have booked a March 2010 cruise on the Wonder.

I thought I have read where DCL will allow you to book future sailings while on board. A couple questions I have are:

1. When booking future cruises while on board, does DCL offer any additoinal incentives for doing so? I am thinking 6 months to a year in the future.

2. I thought I read somewhere that, depending on availability, DCL will offer cruisers the option of booking the follow up 3 day cruise to the 4 day cruise you are on, for example. Is this true and if so, how steep of a discount do they typically offer to resail the very next cruise?

We are driving down in March so a back to back cruise if offered would be a possibility since no flight adjustments would need to be made.

I appreciate any input/feedback you may have.

Thanks in advance.

Mark.

The current incentive for rebooking onboard is 10% off cats. 4-11 for 3, 4, or 7 night cruises and an onboard credit for all categories (100.00 per cabin for 3 & 4 night cruises; 200.00 for 7 night cruises). The half off deposit also applies. They also have incentives for the European cruises next year, but I don't recall what specifics.

2. I thought I read somewhere that, depending on availability, DCL will offer cruisers the option of booking the follow up 3 day cruise to the 4 day cruise you are on, for example. Is this true and if so, how steep of a discount do they typically offer to resail the very next cruise? Not sure on this one, but if it something you definitely want to do, I don't think I would wait until you are already onboard to book. Since those cruises have the kids sail free special, they will probably be full, but you never know. If you do try this, come back and let us know how you made out!

We are driving down in March so a back to back cruise if offered would be a possibility since no flight adjustments would need to be made. Good luck - I hope it works out for you! :wizard: It's a great feeling when everyone else is leaving the ship and you know you're getting back on!

I appreciate any input/feedback you may have.

Thanks in advance.

Mark.

Have fun!

I don't think booking the follow-up onboard is likely. I understand CBP rules require no bookings less than three days in advance, so you really wouldn't have time to book the follow-up online.

The rebooking desk was not open at all times, and every time I went by there was a line I didn't feel like waiting in. But they have a form you can fill out and drop in a box, then the rebooking person will get back to you.
