on our upcoming cruise, I will be booking 1/4/05 cruise to get $200.00 stateroom credit....friends of ours have decided to cruise with us ....I would like to book 2 staterooms, 1 under my name, 1 under my friend's name...then transfer both to my TA, and still get the $200.00 each stateroom credit...

Can I book a stateroom on behalf of my friends in addition to my own to get the $200.00 credit for each? Can I retain this credit even after transfering to my TA?

TY

I know you can keep your $200 credit when you transfer the ressie to a TA. As to whether or not you can book in your friends name... I don't know for 100% certain, but I 'm pretty sure you can't. I know you can book multiple rooms in your name and take others on the cruise with you, but I think all bookings have to be in your name to qualify for the deal. Maybe someone else knows for sure.

We just arrived back from the 24th Magic and I booked a room for ourselves and a room for some of our boys friends for 2006. I understood it as you can book as many rooms as you have persons (adults) in your party that are on the ship.

In that case, can I book multiple staterooms for future cruise under my name while onboard, transfer them to my TA, and have my TA change the reservation name on one of the reservations to my friend?....

Hmmmm....I'm not really sure on this one, but when I was rebooking my room while on my last cruise, I mentioned that I might be sailing with a friend. Donna (the booking gal) really encouraged me to call the friend and get her commitment so that I could book for them and get them the same deal we got. Unfortunately, they weren't ready to confirm the date.

Yes, you do keep the 10% and the $200 when you transfer to a TA--even a discount TA. We did......

Thanks for the info....

I will try to book an additional res.under my friends name for the credit...if not, they will have to book later on....

I think Donna may have a financial incentive to accommodate my request anyway....

We have a family of 6 and were able to book 2 rooms last oct for our cruise this Oct - receiving $400. total stateroom credit and then we transfered this to a TA. If you can't book a room using your friend's names you can always book yourself( and half your total party) in one room and your spouse and the other half of your total party in the other room. As you know, Disney doesn't care which room you actually sleep in. Hope this makes sense.

Last year I booked 7 rooms for our 10th Anniversary Cruise. They were for our family and some friends. You have to put down a $500.00 deposit per room though. I also than transfered them to my TA, who happens to be my sister.

Just got off the 7/24 Eastern cruise and we booked 2 rooms while onboard. 1 room for DH, DD and myself and one for my parents. We went ahead and put my paretns name on their room. All I needed to provide was their name, address and phone #. They got the 10% discount rate and $200 credit even though they weren't on the cruise they were booked on. We had to pay the deposit too...but since they kept DD while we went on our adults only cruise I think that is fair compensation! :smooth:

HTH!
