Just been to the official site to book the Sequia Lodge for December and noticed suprisingly on the calendar that the 4th & 5th Dec are highlighted as expensive days. I can understand Saturday 6th December being expensive but not the Thursday and Friday. However when I progressed further, the total price was the same as booking for the week before or after. Is this a glitch in their system? Or is there actually some special event happening on these two days? I would rather go Thu 4th as I thought it would be quieter than the 11th which is a bit closer to Xmas. But now I'm not so sure. Am I missing something or am I not aware of something like a French public holiday or the schools breaking up around this time? Thanks for any replies. I would love to hear any views or info about this before I book.

It's Saint Barbara's day on the 4th (a public holiday in much of Europe) and Sinterklaas on the 5th (a big deal in the Netherlands and other countries, and celebrated by the Belgians on the 6th), so the whole weekend is likely to be quite busy and/or expensive.

Thanks for the reply. I think I'll book the week before or after. Hopefully the 10th to the 12th will still be quiet as its still two weeks before Xmas.
