How hard is it to book for these places during December 10-13 or 17-20 2006 using DVC point? We are looking to just book at our home SSR at the 11 month window and then try to switch to one of those at the 7month window.

Thanks,
Margaux

Those hotels are not DVC resorts and not subject to home resort booking guidelines. You may book them at 11 months out. They are subject to the 60 day rule.

You may want to check out the point charts for these resorts at www.dvcmember.com. Points for WDW hotels in the 'Disney Collection' are considerably higher than the DVC resorts.

Also, there are no "booking limitations" other than availability and the already mentioned 60 day rule. In other words, as long as there is a room available at one of those resorts for cash, DVC members may use their points to book it. (But you must call to make the reservation at least 61 days prior to the end of your use year).

Do keep in mind that once you use your points to make a reservation at one of the non-DVC WDW resorts, should you decide to cancel that reservation, you cannot then use those points for a reservation at a DVC resort.

Best wishes -

Looks like you are new. Welcome aboard!!

You may be well versed on how DVC works and what kind of points the Disney Collection hotels require......but if you aren't make sure you take a look. The resorts you mention will require significantly more points than a stay at a DVC resort.

GF for those nights (check in on Sun, check out on Wed, 3 nights) will be 40 points a night. Poly 36. Contemporary 29. All those are for standard view rooms. If you have those kind of points to use go for it. Of course before I'd do that I'd see what kind of cash price I could get. If it were less than $400/$360/$290 for the GF, Poly, and CR, respectively, including taxes, then I'd consider renting out the points for cash and making a cash reservation. Seeing as you are looking at value season this might be the way to go.

Good luck figuring it out.
