Has anybody booked for next years visit while checking out? Were you able to get a fabalous deal?

I haven't done this at WDW. But I do have several friends who've vacationed at other resorts and when they are checking out, they've re-booked for the next year. They gotten really good deals.

Just wondering if disney ever did the same thing. I think if they told me when I was leaving that I could have the same "deal" for next year if I booked then, I sure would. Since their deposits are fully refundable, you'd have lots of time to change your mind.

I always do the express check out ~ they slip the bill under your door and it gets charged to your CC.

From what I have heard ~ the CM's at the front desks have no access to special rate, just the rack rates... I believe you would have to go through CRO or the WDTC to get any reduced rates (if there were any)

Wouldn't it be great though if they could give you the same rate for your next trip?? I would grab it too.

Last year, they had the come back rate. Some people got a flyer under there door for a discount to "come back". I never got one. I don't think that lasted too long. Anyway, a day or two before we leave I always make my next years ressie. It makes me feel alittle bit better about leaving disney.

I've already enquired at check in about adding nights.....and I've been told to go to the courtesy phone and call CRO. I don't think the front desk clerks can do anything but possibly offer rack rate for the current night if they have availability.

WDW seems to be run differently than most resorts...probably because there are so many different hotels and the sheer # of rooms on property is so large.

Also, they typically will let you make a reservation for the following year, but if they haven't released rates for that year they make it known that you'll be paying whatever the going rate is for that time once they decide. Sort of discourages pre-bookings far in advance.

CMs at the front desk can only book walk-in reservations and extend current reservations that are checked in. Otherwise you must call CRO. Resorts only get reservations 5 to 10 days in advance of your arrival. VERY VERY different from most hotels where you are in the system immediately upon booking and can do pretty much whatever you'd like!
