Ok, here's the scoop.

We might decide on a late July (19-27) family trip to WDW, flying out of Portland, Maine. I went on the WDW site and added the airfare from Portland. The funny thing is that it only added $740 (4 people)....that's really cheap !!

The exact same flights on the same airline (booked separate on their website) was $1187.

Has anyone has an similar experiences? Why would there be a $447 reduction if booked with the package ?

When we had quoted our flights, it came out about 25% more expensive.

We had booked through Disney on our first cruise in March 4 years ago, and it was a complete nightmare. We were leaving from Montreal and they booked us with a stop in Ottawa. With the snow, we had missed our flight. They sent us to Toronto and we finally got the last flight out that night. I'm glad they had us leaving one day ahead, I wouldn't have been a happy camper if I missed that cruise! ;)

I now book my flights on my own using tools like Kayak to find the best price.

Good luck!

Cathy

I guess sometimes Disney can get lower costs on airlines booking in bulk. I never priced out fares with Disney. I watch & wait for seat sales using Kayak, & air line sites and book myself.

Did Disney include taxes into the fare? If so, you lucked out, and I'd book with them. Good luck.
