hi everyone,

i've just joined the board, it seems fab!! soo much info on disney will come in really handy! :sunny:

we are going to fly to orlando from london on 19th of dec and then fly back from miami to london on 6th of jan, well that is what we hope to do. its gonna be me, my mum, dad and sis. ive looked up virgin and BA and eeeeeeeeeek the prices for singles added up are like £1,000!! and so maybe we'll have to end up getting a return, but still the returns are like £800.

does anyone know of places to get best deals on flights?

thanks :Pinkbounc love karfy xxxxxxxxxx

Good advice from Angel there - also if you can leave a bit earlier in December you should find the prices drop a lot.

I think 19th December coincides with a lot of schools finishing for Xmas - and this always increase flights a great deal.

I have always found Bon Voyage well priced.

Good luck!

If you can, try a few days earlier - the 19th falls within school holiday time so prices will be high.
We are flying on the 16th from Gatwick to Orlando with Virgin and our flights are £400 return.

Yeah I'd recommend that too I saved myself over £674 by going 2 days earlier for our holiday for summer 2006.

ive just read thorugh what u guys have posted! thanks very much for your replies :) i will print off what u said & show my mum and dad...maybe we could go a few days earlier. its amazing how the prices drop if u do stop overs at places!! we cant do that tho coz of me not being well, but thanks for the suggestion :sunny:

i will look up all the links u put on the thread, love Karfy xxxx

try travel city direct as well, they are amazingly cheap i think.they are on teletext or try travelcitydirect.co.uk

Hi :wave2:

You could also try looking on the teletext pages. A friend of mine always books holidays through there and gets some fanastic bargains. :goodvibes

We are going at Christmas too and fly out on December 21st (we have to fly then as DH and I are both teachers so can not go a few days earlier). We booked our flights in February and I looked at all the discount websites as we have booked with some of them in the past. This time however I found that booking direct with the airline was the cheapest (we booked direct with Virgin on the internet.) So it does pay to look around.

we just booked our flights to miami :cool1: i cannot believe that the flight prices flutuate so much!! yesterday morning i looked up virgin flights and it quoted £433 for return miami departing on 14th dec and return on 2nd jan to london airports (we decided to go earlier like u guys said coz they were cheaper, thanks!). i was shocked coz the night before it quoted £533!! so as there are 4 of us going a save of £400 :teeth:

i tried to get my parents to book it during the day at this price but they wanted to sit down and talk about it some more....so then as the day worn on i checked it again and yep the price went up!! i checked it this morning and it has stuck at £516....which is the cheapest on the web i can find for direct flights coz we need direct. im more gutted than mum & dad and they are paying for it!! hehe, i guess its coz then we could have used the extra money we saved for the disney hotel :sunny:

anyway just thought id let u know what happened....so that its a good idea to check the flight costs at different times of the day, possibly the flight costs went down in the morning and up in the evening when there would be more people on the internet booking flights therefore they put them up then, bit like the stock market perhaps?!

we still have 24 hours to cancel the flights with a full refund...so i will be checking to see if any fares drop during the course of the day.

i cant believe its booked tho! is very exciting. we are going to spend 6 nights in miami, then onto disney for 7 nights and have christmas there :Pinkbounc :wizard: this will be us ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo ::MinnieMo ::MinnieMo then onto naples for 6 nights and fly home from miami!

thanks, Karfy xxxx

Great news Karfy!

Now you just need to decide which hotel :teeth:

Karfy,
The way airlines work essentially, is that seats are allocated in blocks, when an aircraft is empty the first block of setas are at the chepest price, as those are sold, the next block are sold at a higher price. this goes on until the last seats left go at a high price. Its always better to book as soon as the flight is avaialble to get the cheapest prices.
As most airlines have thse prices pre installed into their booking computers, as people book online or reserve setas, the price changes.

Your holiday sounds fantastic--at least it's booked now

I have booked to go on December 23rd with Virgin having only ever been in October or febraury before--I was shocked at how high the price was compared with the other times I have been :guilty:

Never mind I have always wanted to be in Orlando at Xmas:crazy:

yep i know kazzie the prices do shoot up at christmas! i guess its coz the holidays must be soo popular at disney....now like u guys said we have to sort out the hotel!!! :sunny:
