If you are arriving on an early morning flight, or driving in early, I assume you can book the night before and use the points, so that your room is ready when you arrive. They wouldn't cancel your reservation if you arrive 'late' right?

We had that happen to us once on a trip at a Marriott property in Puerto Rico. Our flight was delayed and we didn't arrive until the next day and they had cancelled our reservation. There were other rooms available, but they re-booked that room in a specific category for someone else. I probably should've called.

The flights to leave a day later than initially planned are a significant savings, almost $300 per person cheaper. So we are taking the first AM flight out the next morning and arrive to MCO at 8:20am. I'd much rather just keep our reservation as is, and walk straight to our room, drop off our bags, then take a quick nap before lunch and going to the parks.

I assume this is okay? Just want to make sure I ask before we try and and Disney re-books the room as a 'No-Show'.

I haven’t done this but have read that others have with no issue as long as you let them know in advance that you will be arriving “late”.

I’ve done it a few times. I will include the information with member services during any special requests made. Each time told there won’t be that issue with a cancellation.

I do the online check in prior. It’s fun getting your room information before leaving the house. It’s rare but the system has failed to complete the check in. (Happened on a cruise where was offline to be notified night before the disembark morning). Just took a stop by front desk on arrival. Quick & easy.

It’s a good feeling walking into the lobby, in the early morning, and going right to the room. (No front desk. No bell services bags drop off).

I think @Sandisw was told that they won’t cancel until the guest misses two nights. They know electronically whether you’ve unlocked the door or not during that time. Of course, it’s better to email/chat/call to let MS know.
