Booking DVC member cruise... how difficult?

The woman I spoke to on the phone said that it sells out in two hours! She told me to have a bunch of different choices ready which I can do.

Does anybody know if a certain type of room sells out faster? We are looking at a deluxe family suite with verandah.

Also, are you requesting a specific cabin number or just a grouping?

I've never booked a Disney cruise before so I'm not sure how it works and how crazy it will be that day

Thanks

When I reserved last year for 2017 MC I had notes of my top 5 cabins I wanted, that I wanted transfers (from MCO to Port), etc.

I would make sure to have the cabins you want and the category. I started calling the number about 5-10 minutes early and it was already busy. Took me awhile to get through calling in right away.

When you tell them what you need and get the cabin number to them they put you on hold and check to see if it is still available and if so reserve it for you otherwise they come back with other options.

You have to act really quickly. My top choice was gone and I was with MS 10 minutes after the lines opened.

I have never requested a specific cabin, I request a category, but I do have a deck plan so I can see what they come back with.

I think the lesser price cabins tend to go first.

I have been on the phone for a few hours, and used more then 1 phone.

I would imagine that the suites - which are Concierge - go VERY quickly with the DVC crowd... I'd definitely have some back-ups in the "commoner" category. :)

I don't think the rooms I'm looking at are the concierge level. Pretty sure there are lots of those rooms that are "common."

If you're looking at a suite, it's Concierge. There aren't any concierge suites. I think that's where the confusion is coming in with "deluxe family suite with verandah."

Oh crap. I'm confused. The one I'm looking at says "deluxe family stateroom with verandah." I was thinking that was a regular room choice. Is that not true?

I'm so good at WDW planning. This is way more complicated. Thanks for the help.

That is a regular (non-Concierge stateroom). Because in your original post you called it a suite that's why I thought it was Concierge. Sorry to confuse you more.

I'm just easily confused today. Sorry for the confusion and thanks for the help!
