Seriously, considering a cruise for early June 2018. When will the rest of 2018 be out? And what is the cancellation policy? Or can I move/change my cruise date with out penalty. Last, what is a placeholder?

Thanks everyone. I don't want to miss out of the good opening day prices, but not sure if we definitely will do the cruise in June 2018. We are also considering going to Aulani.

I have cruised before but always booked and never changed my mind.

Probably sometime in March, but no one knows

Cancellation is the same as final payment - 120 or 75 days depending on length and location of cruise. UNLESS you book concierge - that is non-refundable.

You can move or change without penalty at least up to final payment - after that I'm not sure.

A placeholder is something that can only be booked on board which is basically a certificate for a cruise sometime in the 24 months following the purchase of the certificate. I personally don't mess with that silliness and just book what I'm going to do on board.

I have another related questions?

I will be sailing in the fall out of NYC with DH. If I book a cruise before the cruise to get in on early pricing, can I move it once on the cruise if needed an received the OBC that they offer?

Trying to understand what you're asking... You're saying you have a cruise for the fall booked and want to book a new additional one when those dates come out, then reshop that one on the cruise in the fall, right?

Yes. You can always reshop the upcoming cruise onboard to see if it is worth it. A lot of times it is, but sometimes the cruise has increased in price to the point that the percentage off and OBC don't offset the difference in price. You'd have to do the math on it on your own.

Do be aware, though, that in most cases you will need to put down a new deposit and have the other refunded to the form of payment as you are really cancelling one reservation and making a new one. One person on here has reported being able to move the deposit over, but that has never been my experience.

Yes, that what I was asking. Thank you!
