OK, so in April 2009 we ate at CRT. I remember when we booked that a credit card was required and we were told by folks on these board that the card would be charged the full amount at time of booking. But I swear I remember paying a bill before we left the restaurant. Am I dreaming this?:confused3 Or what on earth am I thinking about?

not dreaming! lol weve done it twice and both times they asked for our cc number to hold the ressie. with crt they have i think a 48 hr cancellation policy. if you cancel after that, they will charge your card. but if your using your ddp when you go to sign the recepit if you jsut tell them your using the kttk card or cash, they will not charge your cc.

That's what I thought!!!! I was begininnig to think I had a serious blond moment!!! :rotfl2:Then why on earth does everyone on here keep saying that they take payment upon making the ressie?:confused3

CRT (and the dinner shows) are, in fact, pre-pay experiences. This means that you have to pay at time of booking. However, if you have a confirmed resort reservation that includes an appropriate dining plan (i.e. not QS), it will assume that you'll use that to pay and only require a CC hold.

However, when doing it online, there has been several cases where the resort reservation did not properly link and the Dining Plan was not picked up by the ADR, thus requiring the full payment at time of booking. This is caused by a bug somewhere within the system.

Over the phone, this issue does not exist as the CM will manually input that you'll be using the dining plan.

If you do end up pre-paying, you can get refunded at time of dining if you would like to use a plan instead. Cases of modifying before the dining date without canceling and rebooking are spotty. The opposite is also true and you can decide to pay for the meal OOP at time of dining if you wish to not use DDP credits.

there ya go! an even better answer than i ever could of typed out! guess i should of mentioned i don't book my dinings online, my ta books them via a disney cm.
